I come here 24/7 8 days a week. No kidding. I'm here all the time. The staff are some of the friendliest people I've ever met. They know my name and my order and they make for fun conversation. It really feels like a community space. They have a wall in the coffee shop where every month they feature a new artist, which is really cool. It's a great space to sit and work, though they don't have very many outlets. That to me does not retract, obviously, as I would live there if I could. I adore this place, and I take all my friends and family to it when I can.
Hands down one of the better coffee shops out there. Their specialty drinks are absolutely spot on in balance and taste. My favorite is the Parrisiene at the moment. It's rich, smooth, and absolutely delicious. They offer food items but in my opinion it's not that great and definitely not their strong suit which is to be expected, however the baristas/service are super friendly and knowledgeable. All in all as a coffee lover i am glad this place exists
Nice place. I got tea, but I hear the coffee is excellent
I've been going here since the days of UNCG. They've never disappointed and I've always had a fantastic beverage and pastry. I now have the good fortune of taking my son there and sharing this with him. It's been our go-to on Friday and we'll definitely keep up the tradition. Keep up the good work guys and support local.
Great place to study or meet friends, and their coffee + baked goods are excellent :) Parking is a bit tricky sometimes (not their fault, of course), so plan accordingly!
Been coming into Tate for a while and I'm never let down. Ill be sad when I have to move away and cant come here every week. Highly recommend checking it out.
Shout out to Chase, AC, and the other kind employee at the register. Outstanding customer service, great recommendations, and friendly banter. I had a caramel/chocolate/coconut latte and it’s now my new favorite. I will be back the next time I’m in Greensboro!
Nice vibes and good price for coffee and food. I enjoyed my time chilling in the back .
Can't go wrong with Tate Street Coffeehouse, they have amazing coffee, friendly staff, warm and cozy atmosphere, and the community knows it! This place is always so full of life!
Tate Street Coffee is a small coffee shop in an historic part of Greensboro. They have a wide variety of coffee, tea, smoothies and menu items. The coffee shop has some seating in the back of the coffee shop that can accommodate one or more in a party Enjoyed a very good cup of coffee and pastries. I ended up with a Parisienne (w/o liquor :)) - which was such a great choice. Really enjoyed the roast flavor of the bean and subtle hint of sweetness. The other drink was a normal latte; again, great roast flavor. The pastries we got were so good. We got the vegan glorious morning and lemon poppy seed muffin -- and let me say this: don't leave Tate Street Coffee without trying one of these. They are incredibly most, packed full of flavor. The two staff members we encountered on the weekend visits were so helpful. You see, we can get traditional coffees but I was looking for something unique, different and a blend that I can't find in other coffee shops - which is where the staff came in. They helped explain some of the drinks and offer up what flavors I'd taste. The staff really brought the experience.
I never felt a part of the wonderful ethos that is TSCH, but and always went with friends (only with friends). Then one day, I decided to go by myself to get a smoothie. I had never officially introduced myself but they said hello, and remember who I was. That was all it took. Doesn't really matter but it was important to me. They respect dietary needs and will do what they can around food allergies. All you have to do is ask. Music wins. I just wish they had dark roast 😊.
Great little hike in the wall coffee and tea shop Whether or not you're a local or a University student
Their food is delicious, best iced lattes, and quick service! Highly recommend!
Such a cute place!
its a good place for a coffee but can be a bit loud some times.
I love the vibes here. I want to try their whole menu. The baristas are awesome.
Nice café with eclectic art, seating, and nods to jazz greats, a continuum of soft jazz playing in background, and staff which greet regulars with friendliness and familiarity of their usual orders. Clean. Most seating is two two a table, a few center 4 to a table, and 2 group study areas in back. Shared power strip plugs along left wall. WiFi
Is and always has been my go to place for coffee on Tate St. since a young college student and a young adult. I don't get over this way as much these days but I happy to see that this place and most around it have not changed much since then. The breakfast options are really good for not being an actual restaurant so if it is a breakfast sandwich you crave I 2ould say at least try here one and I don't think you will be disappointed 8n having done so. Great staff and the occasional live music offering are also great reasons for regular visits if a local area college student or just simply convenient to your day breaks or routine.
Really cute place, lots of interesting art. My latte was excellent and my husband loved the strawberry banana smoothie.
I’m a regular customer at Tate Street coffee house, I usually order my coffee and head out the door. Today I was planning on ordering my coffee and finishing up around 30 min of homework. The line was long and the guy in front of me in the line walked straight in and started working on his laptop. So, I followed and did the same thing with the intention of ordering my coffee once the line got shorter because I had an assignment due soon. From the moment I sat down I noticed an older gentleman in a Tate Street coffee house shirt, which I assume to be one of the owners continuously walking back and forth in front of my table staring at me as he did so. In attempt to make me feel uncomfortable! After a while of this he walked up to me and said in an extremely derogatory tone, “have you been helped”? Which I then explain that I have yet to place my order. He then continued by saying I cannot sit in the coffee shop if I had not order anything in the same derogatory tone! I understand this policy, but you cannot pick and choose when you would like to enforce your policies. It was extremely upsetting seeing another white man doing the exact same thing as me and not be publicly humiliated for it. I think it was interesting that he chose the only black hijabi female in the coffee shop to enforce his policies on. I have seen multiple reviews that all follow the same story line. I really think it’s time this coffee shop incorporates diversity and inclusion training with all their employees including the owners!
