What a great new coffee shop and pastry spot. The coffee is on point and we love their selection of food. Keep up the good work and we'll see you guys again soon.
First visit to DTCG was very pleasant. Nice selection of beverages, eclectically cozy. Thanks
So many interesting people might drop in during a cup of coffee especially in the evenings
Ordered A chai latte and received a dirty chai. Didn't realize it till I was back at work
Unfriendly barista. Didn’t look up from cash register, unresponsive to questions. If you are looking for a more engaging, warm, and welcoming coffee shop, this isn’t the place. Disappointing as we were looking forward to a fun new coffee shop down town.
Can't rate the food, as I don't eat sweets but they seem to have a nice selection of baked goods to choose from. The coffee is great; they've got some foam-masters making cappuccino's behind the bar. The place itself hits me with uniquely Greensboro rustic/industrial vibe fused with a bistro on the Mediterranean. On Sundays they have some local DJ's come in to spin live music; and lemme tell you these guys put the 'house' in 'house music.'
A MUST IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING TO GREENSBORO!! It was so nice and friendly here. Very easy to start a conversation with others. The atmosphere was welcoming and calm. The barista, Manny, is awesome too.
good coffee place. Peggy is the best barista ever. She makes coffee that makes you feel like your floating on an energized cloud.
Loved it here can't wait to go back, the coffee was top notch!! And I'm picky about coffee i.e. not a Starbucks girlie. 😌
This will be opening in a couple of days from this review. I'm writing this review from my experiences at the existing Common Grounds in Lindley Park. The history of Common Grounds it was the brainchild of my cousin Dustin Keene. I remember him mentioning to me that he was going to start a coffee shop and what I did not know he was going to add so much attention to detail and quality that he would be adding a community fixture to Lindley Park as well as Greensboro. This is the type of place that you could transplant to a major city's best neighborhood and have the residents adopt the place in a month... Though it is called Common Grounds it could be called Uncommon because that is the engaging experience that you get in this locally owned business that will now be a fantastic addition to greensboro's downtown!!!
The employees are very friendly. My only problem is there is no consistency in how a drink will taste or in what one will be charged for it. When the order is made right, it’s very, very good. When it’s bad, well…. Either way, I believe that at least what customers are charged should be the same for the same drink from one day to the next no matter who is running the cash register. My bill has ranged from ~$2.50 to ~$5.00 for the same drink. ???
If you want good coffee and your order to be correct in a timely fashion, go to the original location, I tried to give his place to benefit of the doubt because it’s right across the street from my job so I figured it would be really convenient I went there eight times every single time my order was completely wrong. I tried to get a Matcha from here. It was horrible. I’m just not wasting my time going to this location anymore.
Totally awesome and amazing. Coffee is yum and the danishes are so good. Esp the almond!!
Awesome vibe and great coffee... love this place!!
Spent the day working at the new Common Grounds at the corner of Elm & Gate City. Vibe, as it was mid afternoon during the week, was quiet and perfect for working or school (with a few patrons intermittently on calls). Parking was easy in gravel lot behind the coffee shop. As I was there for 4+ hours I had a latte and an americano. Both perfect. Will definitely be back.
The barista Carly is absolutely amazing! Love coming here whenever I'm downtown. Try one of the cinnamon rolls they get from Black Magnolia, super tasty!
My buddy said "possibly the best smoothy I've ever had". Friendly service. Medieval atmosphere. I'll return.
Omg i would never pay $6 for a coffee but the Marlon Brando is a perfect chocolate and coffee mix. It's like goodness exploding in your mouth. I love it. Sign up for the tears and it'll give you some benefits. Plus they have a therapist night open mic!!!
Beautiful new location with a great vibe! Barista was very friendly and my americano was delicious. Will be back!
Stopped in for the first time after dinner on a rainy evening. What a treat! Loved the vibe of the place - looking forward to my next visit!
