Would like to not have to give a star rating, but Uncle Googs doesn't play that way. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The Village Cafe is a seasonal restaurant, and per their small sign (not the one on Main St.) closed December through March. The group I was with would have appreciated an update to their website, Yelp entry, Google Maps entry informing us of their status.

Mixed review, tough to write To preface, it pains me anytime I have to write a less than stellar review, particularly in this case, because the good was great - atmosphere is sublime and lovely, service fantastic, and the breakfast potatoes cooked perfectly, they just lacked flavor and the scrambled eggs were overly creamy (although reportedly no added dairy).

Beautiful presentation, tasty food and unique atmosphere, however we found that the food choices were limited and slightly overpriced.

Went here for breakfast. Great little spot. It was busy but we were able to get a table right away. Food was fresh and service was top notch! They were able to do a custom order for me. Thank you!! And their fresh squeezed orange juice was absolutely delicious.

Busy morning during fall leaves showcase in Blue Ridge Mountains. I am European and this place has an old world charm to me. Everything was just right. This place was a great find and we will definitely come back. Thank you for delivering quality food, perfect portions and not judging our double vodka Bloody Marry's at 9am

We always stop here on our annual trip to Blowing Rock and it never disappoints! The house and patio are so cute and cozy and the food is delicious! They have great breakfast and lunch options and deal with food restrictions/allergies well! Their benedicts and soups are perfect for a cool mountain brunch!

Wonderful service and the outdoor seating area is beautiful. Food was a little bit expensive for lunch but delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Unexpected surprises: The shady garden outdoor dining area is delightful. Staff was efficient and courteous. Friendly greetings all around from waitstaff and owner. I arrived for a takeout order less than 15 min after calling it in and it was ready within minutes. Latte made on the spot as I waited. An ideal Belgian waffle is crispy and brown on the outside but this one was dismally pale and soggy, opened within five minutes of takeout. No whipped cream, : ( although it was listed as having this. I've eaten well- made Belgian waffles plain because they were flavorful in a stand- alone way. These were lacking in flavor ( and crunch!) and there was no syrup or butter given to top it with. The homemade bread was good but served with packets of jelly you might find at a chain restaurant. The potatoes had only a bare addition of seasoning ( a modicum of salt & pepper and no herbs), and were bland. Rosemary, parsley, green onions, a pinch of cayenne, cracked black pepper perhaps? The smoked sausage strongly resembled a hotdog in taste and consistency, sliced lengthwise and un-. browned. For almost $40 for two orders, the ambience and cordiality cannot make up for inattention in the kitchen.

Quaint atmosphere with outdoor patio dining. Breakfast special of rosemary ham/eggs Benedict good. Crepe with fruit ok, but quite pricey for only one crepe. The crepe itself lacked any flavor. Service was attentive. $3 for a small glass of cranberry juice so beware. .

Good restaurants are hard to come by and good service even more difficult to find. At the Village Café, you get it all. The old home and the seating are in the garden make for a very unique experience. You feel hidden away from everything. The wait staff is superb and always eager to please. The Argentine bread, made on site, is divine and the menu offers great choices. If you are an eggs benedict lover, you'll love Village Cafe'. The eggs are poached to perfection and the delicious hollandaise is used conservatively so it doesn't overwhelm other flavors. The cost to eat at a restaurant such as this is entirely reasonable given the quality. My wife and I return again and again and we recommend you do as well.

Excellent toast, bacon & eggs for Ellen and a vegetarian meal for me. I count that as “High Cotton” for any eatery, especially when we got in and out in exactly one hour.
