The owner is great and very friendly. We're coffee snobs and appreciated that they roasted their own coffee. The roast was actually very good. I was impressed. What we had issues with were the syrups. They were apparently sugar free syrups and we didn't know that since we saw regular syrups on the back counter as well. Having a sign that lists the flavors available would be very helpful since you have to ask what they have and it's not mentioned if they're 'skinny' syrups. We try to avoid artificial sweeteners and usually drink coffee black. But sometimes we just want to treat ourselves to a flavored latte. Because of this, the lattes were overpoweringly sweet and artificial tasting, making it nearly impossible to taste the coffee. I ended up drinking both to avoid wasting money. Husband couldn't tolerate the artificial sweetness and only took a few sips.
Interesting and engaging owner. I highly recommend the toasted bagel with pimento cheese. They also have hot dogs and ice cream, plus a few locally made gift items, AND they roast their own coffee.

Best coffee in the area!
Always good service and product. Willing to give customers what they want even if they have to go to store and restock. The peppermint hot chocolate is my favorite and this is the one of the only places you can get it year round.
Love the local art from the locals, and the small room with local things to buy from Bath. Teenager at the counter was super nice, lovely, and accommodating to our large group.

We loved our visit to the Duke & Dutchess. It’s a delightful gem in Bath. Donna was very warm and welcoming. Great coffee, bagels, and muffins!
Duke and Duchess is the best coffee and breakfast place in eastern NC. Donna is the sweetest lady. Her bacon, egg, and cheese bagel was fantastic. The homemade blueberry muffin was world class and my cappuccino was perfect! I highly recommend :)

We started off here to get a coffee and a tea before our walk around Bath North Carolina. We met the owner Donna, who is very pleasant and began a conversation concerning what our plans were for the day. We told her that we were just visiting for a long weekend, we loved the area, and we had planned on going to one of the local festivals the following day. Upon hearing this she offered several other things that might be of interest that we found very informative and we're very appreciative that she shared that knowledge. The coffee, tea, and blueberry muffin that we purchased were very tasty. We returned after our walking tour of Bath to get an ice cream cone and a pound of coffee. We mentioned that we planned to cook breakfast the following day and were going to stop and pick up some eggs on our way back to our rental. Donna goes into the back and brings out a dozen farm fresh eggs that she had to bless us with.... We need more people like Donna in this world. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I'll be back, probably tomorrow, for a coffee and another conversation with my new friend.
There is not enough great things to say about this little town coffee shop with BIG city flavor. Every time we come to town we have a new fun and exciting experience, and we always get to meet new people and puppies. Donna the owner is so friendly greeting you when you enter as if she has known you forever. Her love and knowledge about coffee is great.. ask for recommendations :) we continue to look forward to our next trip to Bath to visit this wonderful coffee shop. Definitely a must if you are in the area.

We are camping at Goose Creek and wanted to check out the area and grab coffee. Donna is amazing with Fab customer service! Locally roasted coffee, bagels, sandwiches and ice cream. Local hot jams and baked goods too. Love this place. @jwandcoryadventures for more
