Chill atmosphere, great coffee and amazing pastries. We were in town with friends for a long weekend, tried here & scrapped the list of other cafes we intended to visit.

Great staff, super kind and helpful. Almond butter cookie has WAY too much salt, yuck. Inedible. English muffin sandwich is dry and way too bread-y. Sausage is very high quality, super tasty. Egg is a little dry and underwhelming. Salad with the chickpeas, strawberries, etc was decent but the candied pecans were obviously old, there was no caramelization texture, crunch, or punchy flavor/spice. I’m legit trying to be helpful with this specific feedback. Lovely space, definitely a lot of potential and luckily with all the tourists in this town you can made mediocre pastries indefinitely with the right location smack dab in downtown. ;)

I adore this place. Excellent coffee. Timely service. Fun selection of goodies from their shop section. I always pick up a bag of coffee to take back to Raleigh with me. I tried their everything bagel with cream cheese and I am not exaggerating when I say this is the best bagel I have ever had. I love the remix everything seasoning with black sesame seeds and caraway. The fluffy texture of the bagel was perfection. I would drive 4 hours to Asheville for just this bagel at Rhu :)

We love it here, good ingredients, handmade breads and deserts, and best matcha in town!

Blueberry almond pastry was great, but the sausage breakfast sandwich was the kind of thing you don't want to even finish - an unseasoned egg blob on a stale English muffin.

Came here twice! It’s that good! Great food chill and relaxing space with space upstairs to work or write. The breakfast sandwich on homemade biscuit was delicious. I came back the next day to try the Appalachian sandwich so flavorful and the pickled collard greens was a perfect topping one of Asheville’s best places for lunch.

Love a place that serves local and "home made" pastries! Coffee was great, pastries even better! They also have a good sized breakfast menu and I definitely recommend the breakfast sandwich. The brioche doughnut and raspberry cream cheese tart were lucious, bright and dreamy! Great balance of sweet and tart.

The food is always very good, the service usually subpar. Came at 9:05 shorty after they opened and coffee wasn’t ready and they had no half and half. There was no one else ahead of me and a bagel and sausage biscuit and two coffees still took 20 minutes. To the management - Consider having them start coffee when they get in. It will be ready when you open. Generally, busy locals seem to avoid sue to slow service and no parking. If you’re a tourist and have time to wait, then go.

Wow! Awesome place to hunker down and have a nice breakfast sandwich. We loved the local art and the hangout space upstairs. The gluten-free biscuits were flaky and buttery. Just perfect!

Absolutely without question the best gluten free biscuit I have ever tasted - it melted in my mouth! The bacon and egg on my breakfast sandwich were cooked perfectly and my husband said the sausage is amazing. We travel to Asheville several times a year and we will be eating breakfast at The Rhu every time we visit!

One of the best bakeries in town but also a terrific brunch-ish menu! Pimiento cheese grits with collards is AWESOME. Local teas, coffees, jams, and other products including beer and kombucha. Always friendly and quick service and quiet corners for work or study. Easy (pay) parking within blocks.

Great little work space with good internet. Parking is what you expect of downtown. Friendly ish folks although staff bickers with each other a lot. Only one vegan option for food. They close at 4p per their posted hours, which may not coincide with the end of your need of a work space.

I wish that there were more of these places around where I live. Love that it was a little hole in the wall kind of spot. The food was fantastic and very well priced. Staff was professional and kind. Next time I come to Ashville I'll be stopping here for the Appalachian again.

Busy Sunday morning, one register, two people making and serving the coffee, two "line cooks" doing breakfast sandwiches. Nice place, but... although the food is decent, the service is horrendous. I waited almost an hour for my coffee and over two hours for a bacon, egg, and cheese bagle. They had messed up the order in which patrons made their orders, a whole mess. Wouldn't be back.

NOT WORTH THE WAIT! JUST GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Spent a full hour (no jokes, 62 mins) standing to get a bagel on Sunday morning! My latte was ready after 10 mins and it was good but I finished it way before getting my bagel. You'd have to wait standing next to their poorly vented open kitchen (see the pic) spreading burnt oil odor and cooking fumes. This gave us headache and made us feel full halfway through waiting. And for the bagel, it was very chewy with a subpar bagel and small ratio of fish/spread to bread.

Great food and coffee if you are willing to wait 1 1/2 hour for your food.
