Bar doesn’t own both parking spaces and threatened to have us towed. Clearly a for sale sign but some power tripping manager wanted to feel good about himself.
It was my first kava and probably my last but the cutie behind the bar was very informative.

Their open jam on Tuesdays is super psychedelic and a lot of fun to listen to/participate in. Show up early to sign up. Open mic on Wednesdays is also a lot of fun. Lots of great stuff. Show up early to perform. And then great music usually on the weekends. Local legend, Woody Wood plays most Sundays.

Friendly/helpful bartender.......nice layout.....I just stopped in on my way back home. Kava was good. Sadly, the kava bar in Asheville is a lot nicer than ours in Greenville. I will definitely go back when I'm in Asheville.

Best (and largest!) kava + kratom bar in the country. Everyone there is super friendly, and the ambiance can't be beat. Every time I come back to visit my folks in Asheville you can find me here several times during the trip! Love this place!

The chillest, illest place to hang. I love Sovereign because they are ACTIVELY reaching out to people of all races, classes and backgrounds to be a part of community. There's great music, open mic night, women's stage fright workshops and much more. The kava is great and the tenders are very knowledgeable about both the kava and kratom. I always have at least one meaningful conversation when I spend time here. Just a great place to experience terrific kava, Kratom and wonderful people.
Total different experience wife didn't like it as much but Kava really works!! We will or I will be back
Super cool place. Great for socializing, hanging out alone, making friends, doing computer work, and so on. There are chess boards, tables out back, and two ping pong tables. There are many events each week including open mics, open jams, and ping pong tournaments. The thing that most astounds me about Sovereign Kava is the amount of regulars that come almost daily. You can count on showing up at any time of any day and seeing some cool friends you’ve made in prior visits, and it seems Sovereign has become a home away from home for many people. Despite this, regulars are very social with newcomers and there’s a general vibe of support and friendliness in their air. I’m not a huge fan of kava itself, but I keep coming back and drinking it because I love the energy of this place so much.

Staff and owner dont care if their customers get harassed and will ban you if you complain about it. If you mention they are liable to create a safe environment they will also ban you. Dont recommend unless you want to get harassed by their protected customers.
