We had a wonderful time !! Our waitress, AJ, was top notch and new the menu and options to the smallest detail. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Food was fresh and outstanding. So many wonderfully blended tastes. Reservations are a must. Seating is tight. Expect to be friends with the person at the next table. If that would bother you than the whole experience might not be for you. Can not say enough good things . Certainly will be back Pro Tip :Try a variety of dishes and share.
This restaurant had really phenomenal food. I had the seitan which was delicious and my companions had the ramen and masala which they really enjoyed. Unfortunately the service was really REALLY slow. Our entire meal took almost 3 hours for one course and drinks. Our waiter would regularly look at our table and turn around without checking in with us. There was a lot of confusion about who was serving us and we constantly had to ask for water or for any service. It would be hard for me to go back unless i could dedicate a whole night to sit around and wait.
Atmosphere: 1/1 - Small cozy restaurant with dim lighting. Has somewhat of an upscale restaurant feel. Service: 1/1 - welcoming and friendly staff. Always on top of their game with our drinks and checking in on us/our food Price: 0.5/1 -For the size of the plates it’s somewhat pricey. $20-$30 for the “large plates” that were small portions. We shared the cheese plate, mushroom mole and matcha brulee and still felt hungry at the end. Food: 2/2- The plate presentation was phenomenal. Food is incredible! It was a great combination of different flavors. Cocktails were good too! Overall: 4.5/5- If you’re visiting Asheville, or live around the area and are looking for a date idea, then Plant is a great choice! We are not even vegetarian and we loved our experience.
very grateful for the experience I had!! It was everything I hoped for. The crew here works together seamlessly. The open kitchen concept was very interesting to observe. It’s always a treat to see talented and dedicated people brilliantly executing their craft. I loved everything my friend and I tried. Thanks Plant for creating such a special and delicious space. I didn’t have a reservation and no one made me feel like I wasn’t welcomed. I was a little nervous about that and I appreciated how hard the sweet host worked to accommodate my party. They were very hands on and on point in every aspect. For what it’s worth just wanted to add as a former host in biltmore village, you straight up slayed. Hosting is not easy nor is the service industry period. Meghan (i’m sorry if the spelling is incorrect) took care of us and was a total gem. So knowledgeable, patient and helped my indecisive self through choosing dishes which was very thoughtful. I’m very appreciative that we are lucky enough to have places like Plant to visit, where it’s undeniably clear there’s a lot of love that goes into this operation 🫶
Absolutely phenomenal food and atmosphere. Our server, AJ, was so kind and helpful. They’re very responsive to allergies and will accommodate around them. Can’t wait to have another meal there soon!
Amazing food as always. The ramen is fire and our server was super cool. This is our 3rd time visiting Asheville, and we go to Plant every time (not even vegans, the food is that good). This time did feel a tad different because we decided we would just try to be walk-ins on a Wednesday around 7:45. The lobby was pretty full when we walked in, and the hostess actually laughed when we said we didn't have a reservation. It kind of felt like we were trying to get into Dorsia or something. She didn't take our name or quote us a rough time, just told us it would be a very long time if we wanted to eat, and cut us off so we just walked away awkwardly. Kind of felt like she just wanted us to leave. I heard her laugh and do it to the walk-in couple behind us as well. But we just waited about 30 minutes and were sat in the dining room with about 4 open tables, so I'm glad we stuck around. Will try the reservation deal next time. PS The brownie was insanely good.
One of the best restaurants we’ve ever been to. We heard about how great it was, and it was even better than we were expecting. Try something different, like the raw vegan dishes, which are outstanding.
Definitely one of the best restaurants in Asheville area! We have eaten here many times and never disappoint. Consistently delicious!
10/10 recommend. Best food, great service. We always have a wonderful time going here.
Nice experience at Asheville's premier vegan restaurant; I always appreciate an open kitchen. Top plates for me were the Toast, BBQ Brussels Tostados, and the Lemon Cheesecake. The Ravioli is overhyped, same with the "cheese" board; however; be certain to take advantage of the daily menu add-ons. Intimate inside seating and lots of parking.
Very disappointed. We had heard so much about this place. Food was ok, not great. But high priced for the very small servings we got. Still hungry after eating and went across the street to the buffet to get something to eat. Not planning to go back.
Hands down the BEST restaurant in Asheville, no question. I moved here 2 years ago from Las Vegas and have been very disappointed in the restaurants in Asheville, vegan and non vegan. I started going out to different restaurants with a group of 5 friends every couple weeks (I am the only vegan in the group). When we finally dined at Plant a few months ago everyone was blown away and we all unanimously agreed that Plant is by far the best restaurant in Asheville. I've been back 3 times since, and every single thing I've tried has been a heavenly flavor explosion on my taste buds. My non vegan friends agree and have joined me again on the multiple visits. The chef is a professional at his craft, the presentation is beautiful, the ambiance is romantic/vibey/comfortable, and the staff are friendly and informed. One of the only restaurants in Asheville I will recommend to locals and tourists. Has the quality and perfection of the best, top restaurants in Los Angeles or New York City. The rest of Asheville needs to take note and step it up.
Plant is hands down the best vegan restaurant I’ve ever been to. I’ve lived in major cities with top rated vegan/vegetarian restaurants and this little gem in Asheville takes the cake. Not only is the food incredible but every single one of the staff members is delightful. And overall it’s very reasonable priced. I love this place. Don’t ever change.
Best vegan meal in Asheville. Incredible food (everything made in house) and the staff is amazing. So kind. Loved it.
Wow. Plant has upscale vegan food with a cool vibe. Our waitress was really friendly too. I recommend for a special occasion or date night.
I usually rate my restaurants based on whether I want to return. I wouldn't want to eat again at Plant again due to the following reasons: 1) Our reservation was for 930 PM. We arrived early (830 PM) and asked if there was availability for us to be seated early, the host told us she would call us and let us know if anything opened up earlier, so we decided to walk around outside. We came back at 930PM and there were empty tables throughout the place meaning that she completely ignored our request. Also felt a little racism because she didn't ask our name and assumed that the reservation was for me. 2) The host called us at 925 PM and asked if we were still coming..? In what universe does a restaurant call patrons to ask if they are still coming 5 minutes before the reservation? 3) We were seated at a dirty table. We had to ask the server to wipe it down again. 4) The drinks for both me and my partner were not good. 5) We ordered cauliflower small plate (extremely oily and plain), the potato sliced special (also very oily and plain, just tasted like fried potatoes), and the cheese plate (the only good aspect of the meal). 6) Service was extremely slow. We saw the server chatting with other waitstaff at the bar and we had to stare her down to get her attention. For what Plant is charging, the food, service, and experience was highway robbery. They charge top dollar and provided substandard food and shabby service. We were excited to try it out but unfortunately will not return and would not recommend to others.
WOW! My taste buds went on a trip out of this world ! The food was so amazing - vegan gourmet experience. AJ our server made it even more special ! We almost ordered everything on the menu because it all looked so amazing ! Top class Wish I could put the pics of the food we ate 🤩🤩🤩🤩⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
First off the owner is amazing and very accommodating. We had a reservation and the hostess and manager cancelled on us because we did not reply to a text message from a personal number to confirm a reservation we had made weeks in advance. We were never told we would have to confirm our reservation. What’s the point of a reservation if you have to make another immediately before? They were very rude and combative on the phone and not at all honest with their mistake—that they had given our table away. Thankfully the owner overhead and made everything right. The servers were very polite and professional and the food was amazing. It’s a shame such a nice restaurant doesn’t have a manager that’s up to par.
The manager was incredibly rude to us and cancelled our reservation 20 minutes before our dinner was supposed to start. She had mistakenly given our table away and tried to give me every excuse in the book to pass the blame on to me. Thankfully, the owner called me back right after the manager rudely cancelled and he was extremely apologetic and offered to set up the patio specifically for our large party. Overall the dinner was great and we enjoyed our meal. I would highly suggest training the manger to not cancel reservations right before a party shows up in the future. She even tried to blame us since we didn’t respond to her text (from her personal cell phone) when there was no mention of having to confirm our dinner the day of again. I even listened to the message again she left to confirm my reservation and she never mentioned a text 2 hours before dinner. Thanks to the owner for setting us up nicely outside and we will be back. Just hopefully on a day the manager is off.
Had dinner at Plant the other night where we had a delicious meal and were delighted by everything we tried - especially the ravioli! We sat at the bar which ended up being a wonderful gift since we got to watch Derek prepare some of the fresh local produce. He kindly and patiently answered all of our questions about ingredients and flavor and much more. He really invited us into the experience and made the meal meaningful!
