Ivory Road cafe is like your favorite Indy band that the selfish part of you doesn’t want them to get “too” popular to block your ability to enjoy them but yet you know damn well that the world deserves and needs to know just how amazing they are. Jill and her crew of amazing human beings have always treated us like friends and family every time we come and it’s one of our favorite brunch spots for my family that lives locally. Although they keep staple menu items, they routinely change the flavors or ingredients and everything is always amazing with enough variety of choices to please any/all diets or picky eaters. We love them so much that we rented out their venue privately for our elopement which was one of the best meals and service experiences we’ve had and loved it all so much so that when we were able to have our larger wedding after COVID calmed down, we had Ivory Road cater our dessert for the wedding. We had nearly 175 guests and ordered A LOT of extra dessert “just in case”, gleefully hoping we’d have left overs next day and it’s the first I’ve ever seen essentially none of the desserts left over because everyone ate everything because their desserts are that amazing! Thank you to Jill and her amazing pastry chef Jenni as well as the rest of her chefs and staff for all they do and joy they bring to their community especially to our bellies :) Get yourself a donut or a scone while you’re there or a lavender mimosa (my personal fav).
Ivory Road catered a taco bar for me and it was incredible! Plenty of food and excellently prepared. The pork was particularly good. And their cakes and macarons are perfect. (Our favorite: lavender cake with the smoothest lemon icing.) My decision-making process that led to landing on the taco bar was somewhat tortuous, and Jill was extremely patient and went above and beyond to accommodate. Additionally, I've eaten at Ivory Road at least once monthly since January when I discovered them, and everything I've had has been delicious and well-priced. A $3.75 well-made cappuccino! Highly recommend.
My hubby & I went here today for brunch and it was beyond perfect. The outside is so charming with its cottage feel and that feeling continues inside with its cozy rooms, teapot displays, and pretty views. Kat was our waitress and she was so nice and helpful. I ordered the blueberry crumb muffin latte & my hubby went for traditional drip style. The latre was perfect on a slightly cool morning lime today. I had the duck confeit pot pie with greens dressed with lemon poppyseed dressing & hubby had jalapeño biscuits with baked eggs drizzled with ham gravy, bacon, and fresh fruit. OMG! Duck pot pie!!!! Who knew?! Sooooo delicious. The puff pastry was perfect and complimented the tender veggies, melt in your mouth duck, and perfectly seasoned gravy within. Ed's biscuits were so tender and were perfect with the rather light ham gravy. We look forward to returning I true gem of a place❤️
1st time here. The place looked interesting in a good way. Rustic. The atmosphere was cozy and the menu had some interesting menu selections. My wife opted for the lunch meal of Duck confit pot pie. It was awesome. I, instead opted for a breakfast plate. Can't remember the name, but it was jalapeño biscuits with baked eggs, some kind of ham gravy on the side. (See what I mean about interesting menu items?) Each plate came with either a fruit salad or a regular (nothing regular about it) salad. The presentations of our plates were divine and the taste was.. "we'll be back" good. Should have said great. Kat was an awesome server, she kept busy but didn't forget to check on us a bit. When she offered desert, we promised to make a return trip and save room. Sadly, we hadn't asked about the soup du jour but overheard it was tomato basil. (My fav) So, at this point in the review, it probably goes without saying, we'll definitely be back.
Phenomenal brunch at this stellar cafe!! We were welcomed from the moment we stepped out of the car and enjoyed great service throughout. The food was pretty spectacular all around. I am obsessed with the duck pot pie. Parents both got the cinnamon roll bacon egg skillet and the warm, nutty cinnamon paste/spread on the roll had us all singing its praises. Mimosas and coffee were great too. It’s mostly outside seating here, but if weather is cooperating, outside is where you wanna be.
Amazing local food. The chicken and waffle w tacos were the tastiest thing I’ve tried in a long time. It gave a nice twist to a good southern dish. Love the atmosphere and staff. The new ordering style and service was a nice surprise. This might be the new brunch spot :)
Great food, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I am reducing the stars for one reason and one only. They have no clue about good coffee or how to make a proper cappuccino. They need to attend a Barrista course to learn more about coffee. So many times we have been there, and that has been the only thing we could complain about. Very weak and expensive for poor quality coffee. However, let me reiterate, we love the food, the location and the staff, but seriously please do something about your coffee so we can make this a 5 star review.
Food is very freshly prepared; nice Creative Flair to the food also. Service was excellent and it is in a older historic home so feels very quaint. The duck pot pie came with a small salad and was divine
I had Ivory Road cater my wedding, and Jill was amazing! Guests loved the food, and it was delicious! I've also tried their special event dinners, and it is always a culinary departure from the mundane that doesn't disappoint. Highly recommend!
We had a small retirement party here, this place is amazing! All of the food was delicious-my favorites were the shortbread cookies and the hummus! The tea was fulfilling, and each of us received our own tea kettle, which added to the enjoyment! All of the staff were so friendly and super sweet! This is such a cozy experience! We will definitely be back! Recommend this place 10 out of 10 for small gatherings or just to enjoy their delicious food!
Nothing beats the Ivory Road experience! Delicious food and coffee, great service, and you won’t find a cozier cabin vibe in AVL. Absolute must-try if you are in the area!
Cute little place for a meal. Food is creative and yummy. Would definitely recommend.
This place is most notable for it's beauty and self-flatery of the staff 🤣. The owner confronted me about taking pictures of the staff; however, I spent a minute or two taking pictures of the restaurant because of it's novel appearance; if anything, I wish I could remove the less than novel members of the staff that incidentally got caught in my pics because most of them take away from the beauty of the place! To speak of the food, the bass Reuben would've been ok except for the overbearing granny mustard (that stuff is very strong!). The Bacon and eggs were ok. To be fair, the bacon strips were healthy, not thin transparent pieces other places will try to pass off. The mocha latte was ok, the food is fairly priced. In summation, a visually aesthetic place with a pleasantly antiquated feel with an apparently ultra-liberal, feminist oriented staff.
This is a quaint little restaurant in an old house. There are a number of rooms where you may be seated for your meal. The menu was somewhat limited. We visited for lunch, but after looking over the menu we decided to order from the breakfast menu. We both had the Southern Skillet. It had cheddar cheese grits, bacon and two eggs served in an iron skillet. It was a delicious combination. The wheat bread came with honey butter and jam. The meal was excellent and the service was good. Enjoy a meal here when you can! And while you are there be sure to visit the Little Free Library near the parking lot. Take a book and leave a book!
Super little place, fair prices and very cordial staff
Great french toast!! Skillet was awesome. Love the biscuits! We'll be back.
Great food. Amazing atmosphere and staff. Highly recommend if you are in Asheville!
Fabulous cafe! From the vast menu selections to the daily specials, it's a MUST try!! I eat there weekly, either with my staff or clients, it's always great!
All around the best experience in a long time. The staff was above and beyond perfect and the food was even better. I fell in love with the painting from a local artist on the wall and went home with it! I will be returning as much as I possibly can. Thank you for an out of life experience. Out of my stress, out if my chores, out of my mundane cuisine, out of this world great. Thank you just doesn't seem to say it. My gratitude and respect ten fold.
Finally visited during Asheville Restaurant Week and already looking forward to my next visit! Make sure you browse their mimosa selection…we enjoyed passion fruit and pear versions!
