Great coffee
Cute place, good coffee but the way the owner talks to the staff, claps and snaps finger at them is a major put off. Be nice to your staff. Update 4/7: it’s the second time I see the owner mistreat her staff. She’s so worried about appearance that she ignores the fact that her treatment of them in PUBLIC is what makes it ugly.
Great spot for me and my little girl to have a hot chocolate.
Absolutely love their coffee here. Great little coffee shop with a small variety of savory and sweet food options. Staff are always very friendly and pleasant.
Great coffee and cool looking cups too. The customer service was just awesome! I appreciated that.
Nice little coffee spot. Stopped here after brunch. Had the mikelccino. The ice cream gave a real creamy and smooth component to the coffee. Even though alot of diary, wasnt heavy nor rich. Good balance.
Nice place
Best coffee
Good, very friendly and attentive service. The iced coffee I ordered (If I recall, iced cappuccino) overall was good, tasty and balanced. The bougatsa (a Greek sweet custard in phyllo dough pastry) was ok; I will admit, I expected it to be a bit better. Apparently, it is imported directly from Greece. Price-wise, I would say a bit pricey, more closer to the umbiquitus chain we all know. Overall it was a good experience. All the rage in Greece apparently, I figured, since I was in the area, to go in and see what the fuss is all about. I may drop by some other time when in the area again.
Great location and having indoor and outdoor seating is great. The espressos are mellow and not overpowering in flavor and texture. They froth the milk for every kind of coffee and it makes a huge difference, esp when sitting there w your coffee and reading/chatting!
Reminds me of being in Greece or Cyprus. Really love Mikel anywhere I go to and find them the world over
Great coffee, many choices, excellent service, warm atmosphere!!
A pleasant coffee shop with decent lattes and some relaxing indoor and outdoor seating. It connects inside with Gyro Corner next door. I believe this is a Greek chain, so it does visually feel kind of chain-y, but not in a terrible way. Even iced drinks come in a cute paper cup which is kind of funny. My only complaints: 1. The lattes always have so much foam that your drink feels like it has very little actual liquid for the size. 2. Hours can sometimes be erratic (e.g. closing early due to "not enough staff").
I first saw Mikel in Athens and Paros. I remember that every coffee I ever had at any Greek cafe was extraordinary. Today I wanted to revisit that experience here in New York and so I visited Mikel in Astoria. The cappuccino mikel was indeed, extraordinary! Very tasty with smooth silky steamed milk. Just lovely lovely❤️ I then bought a Greek coffee to take on my walk it too was wonderful. It reminded me of the coffee in Greece, bold and rich yet smooth. A coffeeshop worthy of its place in Greek Astoria 🇬🇷
I was very excited when i saw this chain pop up in Astoria. While we have a wealth of wonderful grk coffee shops, this one is literally straight from greece from the decor to the store set up. It tickles that aching nostalgia when you can't take the trip. Also it is literally the only iced coffee ive ever gotten to-go in a non-plastic cup in nyc. 💅
Affordable and my go to cafe. They have free wifis and the outdoor seating is good. However, most of the times seems to be closed earlier, although the google map schedule says ‘open’ I wanted to go after 4-5 because not so many chill cafes aren’t opened after that. I wish I could’ve gave 5 stars, but I wish they would change it.
It has been a different experience then other coffee shops. I requested a regular coffee with sugar and milk, and they told me there’s an extra charge just to add milk to your coffee, which was very confusing. Another day I went to buy a frappe with milk and again extra charge for that, and even for an iced coffee. I understand milk charge if it’s oatmilk or any other special milk but any coffee should come with regular milk if requested. Plus the iced drinks are not full in the cup, but about three quarters which again i found it strange. Maybe a great place just wasn’t for me.
I love this spot and love that is stays open until later than 7 pm!
Best Freddo in Astoria! The servers are knowledgeable and friendly as well.
The cashier was rude and when I asked what a drink was (because they have different names and types of drinks) she acted annoyed and asked the other server to explain it to me. The coffee itself was okay, nothing crazy about it and for $6 I was expecting more.
