Have I actually never reviewed this? Holy $H!+ ! This is the best breakfast/coffee/get you morning/get your life going spot. Great people, great legends manning the grill and making sure all of you breakfast dreams come true & MOST OF ALL: GREAT COFFEE. I Brew Illuminated at my house when I can't quite make it to my breakfast place of worship and get the kick/jolt I need while also enjoying the great blend. Go here. Do it. It's conveniently located, near other cool businesses, spots and parks. Support the Queen City. The Grind is a backbone business to the city. Nuff Said. The food is really good and it is always hot. Sometimes, there's a wait, but it's well worth it. Due to being busy. I call it SOHO up north. It's very trendy and artsy. Original paintings on the wall featuring local artisans. They sell t-shirts if you're into that as well. Nice little place.

A cozy comfortable neighborhood cafe down the block from the train station and waterfront. This is a great introduction to the town of Poughkeepsie. Barista was warm and friendly and the menu is robust. The cold brew was euphoric and can easily rival any New York hipster cafe. The aftertaste was fresh and deep and I had to stop myself from drinking it down, while nursing it slowly. We didn’t order anything to eat but they have a nice selection of breakfast, lunch or baked goods. The cafe is small but quickly filled with locals who all seem to know each other and we’re very eager to share friendly convos. The chai was also fantastic. Would recommend taking your coffee and strolling the downtown park and river.
Great place for either eat in or take out breakfast items I had a wonderful toasted lemon poppy muffin! Lots of choices !
Outstanding local coffee shop with a unique setting.
Too long to get the food, which wasn’t very good after the wait. Bacon was chewy, too much ranch dressing, and I had to scrap the paper-thin wrap from my teeth. I feel Pepcid will be in my future this afternoon …..

This place has the best waffles and I have often referred people to the location. My only complaint- when I told the young woman who took my order I asked for scrambled eggs and got over easy, might I have been given the wrong order? Her response- "I wrote scrambled, I don't know". No attempt to resolve the issue. Someone needs to train her!
Place never disappoints. Love the staff. Great place with excellent coffee and food.
Great spot! There was a line out the door but I got in quickly to order and got my coffee immediately. Food took a few minutes but it was worth the wait! I also got a coffee mug to remember my short weekend in town!
They were SO NICE here! I hung out for 90mins with an omelette and a large cup of delightful coffee and everyone was awesome. 5min from train, too. New stop in Poughkeepsie.
Very friendly staff. Excellent coffee. Super tasty bkfst sandwiches, omelette, and waffles! Will definitely be coming back.
When the management of the place is cheap it is not for me We bought 2 breakfasts, coffee and large tea. I always have tea with milk and I was happy to discover that the place have Paris tea that I recently learned to appreciate, so I ordered large cup with milk. The tea back size is might be good for small cup, but it will definitely be not enough to give only one tea bag for large tea, so I asked for one more tea bag and the seller wanted to charge me for that full price for an extra cup!!! Not extra dollar but for one extra tea. Seriously?!?! I asked them to make a new tea for me in a small cup, because this is just a water that is not even colored well, and the guy took the cup and after 10 minutes said that he will make a new cup only if I will stand again in the line again. I already was in the line, the seller already took my cup of tea back, and now only because he was annoyed by me and wanted to teach me a lesson he wanted to force me to stand in the line. **** So trying to charge me for an extra tea bag is cheap, but to teach lessons some annoying customer is really bad! I took the money back. GThanks but this place not for me. And no I do not suggest this place to anyone else, there are plenty nice places out there with very good service , go there!!!
Wonderful spot and super sweet baristas. A literal refuge in the storm, delicious coffee, yummy omalettes, very, very welcoming.

Stellar place. The taste, consistency, presentation - all 10's across the board for this place. Excellent coffee that's roasted in-house and tastes better than any name brand. It's rare you find a place that does both excellent coffee and eats - keep the Poughkeepsie Grind at the top of that list!
