The service, food, and vibes at The Central are always on point. I often spend time there whether I am working, or just looking to see a friendly face. I highly recommend the Kelly Burger, it's the best burger in town! The cocktail menu is also incredible, if you are a bourbon fan, try the "Hey BeBe", delicious! Jess, Ash, Carolyn and the entire crew always make sure I am well taken care of!
i never really complain but an uncalled for terrible attitude for no reason right of the bat justifies this review. this is sunday. online it says they open at 9, but i suppose that’s just the cafe which isn’t clarified on the maps page. we got there at 10:20 and asked of the nice girl who was cleaning outside what time they start serving food, she told us 11, no problem. there were already people sitting having coffee outside so we grabbed some drinks from the cafe (so we already spent money) and decided to do the same and nobody said anything. didn’t realize there was limitations to their outdoor seating apparently. it’s 11:15 now and the host finally comes over with her bun wound as tightly as her attitude and asks us if we got here early and we say yes. she asks us if we have a reservation, and we reply no. her response is “well we have a lot of reservations and since you guys just decided to sit i’ll see if i can spare you a server.” ew. wow. definitely some hospitality training necessary there. “a lot of reservations”, meanwhile, only 8 out of 20 outside tables are occupied, including us, at not even 12:00 when we left. so an hour into opening and at no point did more than half the tables become occupied. wouldn’t say the place is jumpin by any means. maybe the inside was busier or maybe they were down a server but i have a truly hard time believing that with clearly very little reservations our one table made such a difference. our server was pleasant, no complaints about her, but there wasn’t much room for change from the menu, no modifications. and i’m not even talking about substitutions but asking for things without onions or red peppers is apparently not allowed because everything is pre prepped. that’s…questionable... and if that’s the case i’m not sure why it took so long for us to get our food which was at 11:42, we were done eating AND paid by 11:53, so we were out in 10 minutes after being made to feel like an inconvenience by the hostess. i would’v
Glad this space has been reopened since 10 yrs ago. To sit outside and with the ambiance of the Hudson River/Valley is 2nd to none. Food surprisingly good .
This place is worth a try if you happen to be at Peekskill train station when you are hungry. It has a nice interior, which is bright. Staff members are friendly and helpful. The Brunch Bravas I ordered exceeded my expectations. As for drinks, I had a matcha latte, which was definitely better than the many coffee shops. Overall, I had a good experience.
We took the train to Peekskill to map a future commute. It was cold, and a cafe at the station is just what the doctor would have ordered! The staff were welcoming, the cafe homely, and the breakfast great! There were these blueberry pop tarts(?) on the counter that literally call you🎊! I look forward to my next ride.
A converted old train station building I think. Literally next to the tracks but don't let the sound of an occasional train prevent you from enjoying this dining experience. I apologize up front for my food photo. It was a long day, I was famished, and I ate half before I even remembered to take the shot. I almost didn't include it but it was sooooo good. The service was excellent. Google reservations works flawlessly. It is not a big place and all the tables were reserved when I was there so I strongly recommend making reservations. Great casual dining at a reasonable rate especially in this region. I would definitely come here again.
Love getting coffee here in the morning. Their pastries are delicious. Can’t say enough about brunch and dinner!
The service was very friendly and helpful. The meal was excellent, but I would say the menu is limited. I would definitely go again.
Had a delicious brunch here on Easter Sunday. The staff was attentive and made great suggestions. Had the eggs Benedict, which had a delicious guacamole snugged between the egg and lox, and the super savory sausage and country gravy biscuit, which featured a crispy spicy chili oil. All-around lovely dining experience. Will return next time I’m in Peekskill!
Cute little cafe just by the train station. I took a random ride to Peekskill and had brunch here while waiting for a return train to Manhattan. The service was good and the food was fresh and tasty, great coffee. Very peaceful place, This will definitely be a regular brunch plan. The lounge side of this cafe opens at midday, I’ll try it next time.
Best low key hided treasure in City of Peekskill
Cute place, quick service, decent coffee and food. But what are these cups and lids that are so leaky and ill-fitting. I would prefer not to wrap my cup in Kleenex and death grip the lid just to take a sip of coffee. Some better sealing to go cups would be appreciated.
Enjoyed the actual trains passing by the station.
Delicious food and delicious beverages.
The space is a beautiful renovation of the original Peekskill train station waiting room. The food is outstanding - a mix of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern with great meat and plant-based choices. Everything is perfectly seasoned and fresh - we had the hummus appetizer, Moroccan Chicken and Ribs. Excellent cocktails. The coffee bar is also great for breakfast and brunch. Everything is baked fresh!
Stopped for coffee and breakfast before our drive home. The cheddar chive scone was absolutely phenomenal! Best cheddar scone I have ever had! I got a caramel latte with oat milk and the coffee was fantastic. Overall the experience was great.
Eggs Benedict was the best I've ever had. Creamy and delicious ! The eggs were perfectly cooked. Sub avo with Kale. superb!
All I can say is WOW!!!!! We were a party of 3 for dinner and all had fabulous meals! My son and I both had the New York strip, olive oil smashed potatoes and seared green beans. I can’t remember ever having a more perfectly prepared, delicious steak in a restaurant (that’s saying a lot). It was so tender I would have thought it was a filet. My husband also loved his Moroccan chicken sandwich and fries. I’m guessing that anything you order will be delish and the chef came to our table personally to check on our experience. Definitely get a reservation though, it’s not a huge place. Parking is easy and the space is cool - it’s an old train station that’s next to the actual train but it’s not overwhelmingly loud at all. We’ll be back!
Stopped in for dinner. Nice atmosphere, great service and food was excellent as stated in the other reviews.
I absolutely loved my experience! Music was on point and food was excellent. My cappuccino was too die for. I will be back again soon!
