Great food. Dine on the deck when open!
Great vibe, lots of options for dietary restrictions & good food!!
Thank you to the staff at Autumn Cafe for providing such a wonderful Mother’s Day brunch! As always, you never disappoint!
The food was amazing. This is how food should taste. Filled with flavor and color. Will definitely visit again. The plantains were the best I've ever had and I would make the trip just for them.
All as expected, you won't be disappointed unless you were really hoping to eat at home in the first place - which I think was true for my guest. And that was more about my guest not liking public places than anything the Cafe could do. I had hoped for a quieter, cozier, less crowded Tuesday night, but one can hardly blame a place for being popular! Got the scallops on special and enjoyed them. I would say everything was fine but I didn't leave with any specific reason to go back.
It's a wonderfully relaxing place! The food is delish, and the customer care is amazing.
We both got the tofu scramble, the only vegan option available. It tasted strongly of horseradish even though that was not listed as one of the ingredients and it was soggy. Even though we told them we were vegan I'm pretty sure the toast was buttered and the butter smelled off. The potatoes and my mimosa were good but 2/3 of the dish was borderline in edible. The service was good, the kitchen was fast, and the atmosphere was ok but a little loud. However this was Sunday morning so this level of noise may not be representative.
My tastebuds and I love The Autumn Cafe. It's local and conveniently located right in the heart of downtown Oneonta. I can not speak to their lunch or dinner menu. However, their brunch menu is always a hit! With fresh, new tasty brunch specials and yummy breakfast drinks, no wonder you have to RSVP. The servers are also pretty awesome. I will be returning again and again!
Best food that I have had in oneonta been here a few times and the food is always great. Recommend that if your in town to stop here.
My wife and I have been coming to the Autumn for twenty years and like other reviewers have stated, we never know what to expect. The food is generally very good, but the service is consistently bad! It's not uncommon to wait 45 minutes to an our for food to arrive after its been orders. Servers, with the lone exception, are inattentive, defensive when you ask a question, and do not fill water unless you ask. This is a shame because there are very few dining options in Oneonta, and the menu and food are usually quite good. Today we went in for Sunday brunch and I wish that we hadn't. It took over an hour for our food to arrive and we were given multiple excuses and received a passive aggressive apology when we asked about the delay. The omelet that I ordered was runny, the vegetables greasy, and both of our water glasses were dirty. My wife's eggs were also runny and the special that she ordered was missing items. I did not dare complain again as by this time, we had lost out appetite and wanted to leave. We were told that our meal would be "comped" but were only given a 10% discount.
Nashville Chicken and Special Chicken Salad Sandwich with walnuts, cranberries and greens were fantastic! Maybe some of the best chicken we have ever had. Nice blend of sweet and spicy. Cooked to perfect tenderness. The prices were very reasonable. Kids liked French Dip and Classic Reubens also. Tasty beer and generous alcohol in mixed drink. Bonus...we loved the alternative 80s music...so did our kids!
Had a late lunch today, and the food was disgusting. The chicken salad sandwich was awful, and the pastrami reuben was also horrible. Chicken tasted bad, and the pastrami meat was tough and not trimmed. Bread was toasted old bread. The waiter could not read the room and stood by our table, interrupting my lunch with his life story.
When asked by the waiter if we had dietary restrictions, we explained we were vegan. He proceeded to read a very long list of specials that all included meat and dairy products. Food was bland. Service was extremely slow. With two meals purchased. Neither of us ate much. My partner made several attempts to flag down our waiter to get the check. The waiter went to the bathroom, joked with other staff and passed by us multiple times. My partner went to the register to ask for the check. The woman at the counter got the waiter then asked me if I needed a box. I said no. The waiter came asked us both us we needed boxes. We said no. He returned with the check and asked me if my food was ok. I said no it was tasteless. He immediately removed my meal from the bill. However he said nothing to my partner who’s entire meal was sitting on the plate. The atmosphere is beautiful. The service and food need help. It was just not a very comfortable experience.
The waiter (Steve) totally disregard for the presence of anyone besides himself was egregious. Not once did he ask how good was food, except after the fact when more than 95% of the burger wasn't eaten. I've traveled all over and this was the worst representation of what a "vegan burger" is supposed to be. They should remove every single vegan option from the menu.
The vegetarian options are stellar! Attentive to food restrictions, so this is a great place for just about everyone to eat. They do get busy though-reservations recommended.
Nice place. Different type of menu. Lots of vegan and vegetarian.
Food was really good, but almost an hour wait for food. Don't go if you're in a hurry.
It was our first time there, and it definitely won't be our last. The service and the food were fantastic.
Amazing food with so many options for those with dietary restrictions!
Stopped for brunch on my road trip. Very inviting exterior, promptly seated, a bit of a wait for the food but it was worth it.
