Always come up to Old Forge and we haven’t went to the mill in a very long time but this past winter we decided to give it a try. Very good! But if they are busy expect to wait! Other than that the food was great I just don’t recommend the shepherds pie, but everything else was wonderful. We even went two times in one week.

Nice place, good food, good service, and reasonable prices. They may have survived COVID but it appears they scaled back their menu selections from several years ago. Also, they apparently lost their liquor license but are working on reobtaining it. Continued good luck to them. We will be back.

I love the Mill. We became family there. Their food was exceptional and plated beautifully. We made a point of visiting every evening.

We came for dinner last night. We're out of towners from Buffalo. The Mill is outstanding. The food is phenomenal. We had Ranch fries to start. We almost ate the whole thing before dinner. I got flat iron steak. It was great, except way too salty for me. I like things plain. Still delicious. Fiance got Salmon and loved it. He's a rough critic. So the fact he loved it is a testament to how great it is. The atmosphere is cozy, welcoming and rustic..what you'd expect in the mountains! We had a great dinner!

After a long day of snowboarding and skiing on empty stomaches my friends and I came here to fill up; I’m so glad we did. Every single thing we got was SO good. From our entrees to even the warm bread and sweet maple? Butter (Not sure how it was flavored) was incredible. HIGHLY recommend eating here.

Have had a great experience each time I have dined. Mushroom appetizer is great. Simple and fair priced kids menu. Schnitzel sandwich is a must have. Great & friendly service. Nice atmosphere by the wood stove in the bar.

A little slow, but this was close to the holidays, so that's kindof to be expected. The braised beef is amazing.

Me and my wife came in, seated at 4:30pm and received food at 6:00pm. Within an hour and a half was checked on by our waitress not once! A different waitress took our drink orders, a male waiter brought our food! Then our original waitress came back upon request to the male waiter because we were asking where our waitress was because I ordered the hamburger medium and was beyond well and overcooked! My wife ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, I don't like chicken but when she had me try it it was very dry, overcooked and very crunchy by far... overcooked! Never received refills for our lemon waters. The Best part was the French fries are to die for perfect!!!!! The atmosphere here between the employees was strange. A+ to the man waitress who was seen going table to table taking care of tables that were not his responsibility! We were not charged for our meal due to all the unfortunate events here but decided to go elsewhere to eat.

We were greeted by the owner and it went downhill from there. The staff are clearly intimidated by her and it shows as the atmosphere is very tense and no one seems particularly happy to be there. The food was plentiful but bland; you could do better by going someplace else.

It was my first time in Old Forge (I was here for a half-marathon), and this restaurant came highly recommended. They sat us quickly, and we all loved our food.

Nothing beats The Mill in Old Forge! The food is always excellent and the service is first class no matter how busy the restaurant is. The young owner has put together a team that delivers a consistently great experience for dinner, drinks, or both! Highly recommended.

Hello Fellow Google Map Explorer(s) ; This is Another....(Yeah lol, you guessed it!), Childhood Memory Maker Destination for Me Growing Up Except Back Then I Remember It As "The Old Mill" & I remember they almost always had the restaraunt staple,The Big Wooden-Wheel, spining around with the slight sound of the water clashing with it's paddles which in turn "Made The Magic Happen". It was always a must hit on the way outta town type of tradition, which became a fond memory and eventually to what it feels like today, 2022, roughly 25 years from my first visit,.which is personal & hard to explain without a life story so we'll skip that hyperbole & just say I gave "The Old Mill" which is what I will forever know this establishment's name to be, a 4 out of 5. Now even though I can remember happy times here , or that the name was changed to "The Mill" in Old Forge, NY, it just didnt give me the same appeal as it once did whether 24.5yrs ago or last summer when we passed it as coming into town. And even if their are new owners, the old name for "The Old Mill" suited it well for quite some time. Just saying : ) As far as the food, it was delicious as far as mine was concerned & I didn't hear any complaints from our 4 guest table besides the bartender may of been new necause i know what a "Captain Morgan Rum & Coke" tastes like, watered down or heavy handed and this was neither of the sort so I left the mishap untold because it really wasnt that dramatic you know? lol.. I mean the hospitality industry is a hard, labor riddled jposition, per your title in most cases, I've been there busting my hump after 2 am on a New Years Day after ringing in the New Years Eve holiday washing dishes, taking out bags upon bags of trash for minimal pay compared to some other positions which lets just say rely on the underpaid half of the operation in order to make some of the insanely overpaid amounts in comparison to ours, but hey thats the way it is & not the industry/position to car

Not a great first impression as the bartender was quite unpleasant. I understand she was busy, but she was short and made us feel like we were bothering her by asking what kind of wine was available. That encounter ruined the dinner for us unfortunately.

“I have never been to a crowded restaurant and got my food in 20 minutes. It was top notch in my book. Next time you are in Old Forge stop by The Mill.” Logan, age 7, ordered the burger and fries *The fries are perfect- crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.

Polite service with a smile, great food and portions. Overall a great and cozy place for the family or couples or whoever to enjoy. If in the area I recommend stopping at The Mill.
