They have a lot of gluten free options. They even have keish
Full disclosure, I work at Suzea's. I also eat at Suzea's because I know exactly what's in the food. Take this GF ramen...best quality smoked pork tenderloin, fresh vegetables, and perfectly cooked noodles in a savory broth. Best part? The house made tequila onion garnish. The food is beautiful, it's TASTY, it's made with real ingredients, and it's hand-down the best gluten free food you can get **anywhere.** I'm so proud of the food we make here. And as someone who has a million food issues that make eating out hard, I love that Suzea's owner (my boss) works with our customers to make sure they have food that fills them up and makes their bodies feel good.
We had the wonderful opportunity to stop by here for lunch on our way down south. I had marked this as a possible place to check out prior to our trip and I'm glad we did. Do yourself a favor and drop by if you're in the area. Heads up, dishes are typically made to order, so budget some time ahead.
I'll say the same thing about "gluten free" that I say about "vegan/vegetarian" dishes - if it tastes good, I don't care what you call it. Here it just plain tastes great - and I'll always appreciate great food. stop here whenever life takes me through Mt. Morris - and I never feel like I'm missing out on flavor or value. If your group includes people with dietary restrictions - you won't be missing out on anything either! Every time I stop here I get something different and it's always been a wonderfully delicious experience! Tequila onions (on a waffle sandwich) was my latest "food-gasm" (the onions were DEEPLY caramelized, one of my favorite ways to have them on a sandwich) - paired below with a Mango Smoothie!
Owner is beyond rude to staff in front of customers (and for no reason other than trying to appear managerial). Soup and sammie was so blah that I didn't eat more than a couple bites. Bread was mealy and bland and soup was barely warm. IDK how its possible to mess up grilled cheese and soup special of the day, but she did. Also bought a few items to try at home and they were all bland or so over sugared they were basically candy. Will never go back!
Amazing find for gluten free baked goods! We stumbled upon Suzea's Gluten Free Cafe' while visiting the area. What a gem of a find! We ordered sweet baked goodies as well as a loaf of her incredible Rye bread; ALL GLUTEN FREE and delicious! It's been years since I've enjoyed rye bread toast and I was a bit skeptical. It was amazing! I kept it in the freezer and pulled out what I wanted and put it straight in the toaster. Turned out perfect. I only wish we lived closer, I would be a regular customer, for sure!
We didn't even get all the way in the door before being told we had to wear masks. Wear them till your food comes to stay safe, but once the food is there - you don't have to wear them? That's completely irrational. No thanks. We took our money elsewhere.
The gf food and bakery is excellent. However the owner needs to go to a class on how to be an effective manager to her employees. We could hear all her negative comments to the young employees. You can get a more positive return from an employee by not embracing them in front of the customers telling us their mistakes for the day. We felt uncomfortable for our entire meal hearing her scolding them very negatively. Was surprised they allowed a dog in eating area but you have to mask.
Always delicious and you must get the Nanaimo bars they are divine and the cheese bagels are amazing! They currently require masks so make sure you have one or they should have one available for you. The owner is very sweet and the lady that helps her is very nice too. The newer older lady not so much. She was helpful but she showed us everything in the freezer then walked away so we grabbed only what we wanted and she came back and said we couldn't grab anything out of the freezer and if we could read the sign which was a little rude. We sanitized our hands and wore masks I think we should be able to grab what we want and because of that I didn't get everything I wanted from the freezer. Other than today it has always been a great experience! They also have lunch options to dine in!
Gluten-free bakeries are hard to find and this wonderful gem in downtown Mt.Morris is worth the drive. The facade is striking, off street parking makes for an easy entrance. Inside you will find several small tables with chairs to enjoy their baked goods, coffee/espresso drinks are offered to accompany. I tried the English muffin, tuxedo cookie and snickerdoodle. Each were delicately delicious, with a light texture and weight, perfect recipes to rival any gluten-free bakery in a large city. Visit this bakery even if you're not gluten-free. It is an amazing find, what an addition to the the regions good scene !
Suzea’s is a great little gluten free cafe! I have celiac so finding a dedicated gluten free restaurant is very rare. Suzea is also a celiac, and we had a great conversation about how she started her place. I highly recommend the steak, onion, and cheese waffle sandwich! The waffles are sooo good. Thanks, Suzea, for a great experience!
Really good food!!!!
If you're tired of the S.A.D. -- ( fast-food-itis and other menu regulars considered to be of ill-repute by those who actually know something about nutrition and give some modicum of consideration to their dietary choices) -- then do your body a favor and stop by Suzea's for a refreshing change of pace! We discovered this little gem for a late lunch on a rainy Saturday afternoon, and I thought I'd found a little piece of Heaven!! Although the salads were tantalizing, I decided to go with the waffle sandwich after learning the waffles were protein-enriched. Not only was it absolutely delicious, the owner (Leah, sp?) was spot on that I probably wouldn't feel hungry the rest of the day! She has a wealth of knowledge (and degree ) in nutrition and really knows her stuff!!! We also tried the Matcha tea... mine was a latte. They make it properly here, using a bamboo wisk to first obtain a froth, then add the steamed milk. It was good quality Matcha...very smooth, no bitterness. The server was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and accommodating (happy to make some modifications to menu items)...all in all, superb! They even took an order out to one of our friends waiting in the car. I took several of the various delectable pastries home for a later treat. I highly recommend the Nainomo bars (luscious chocolatey delights) or the Australian Caramel bars...each so rich that a little goes a long way! If I could clone this place I would, and bring it to my neighborhood so I could be a regular!!! Since you only live once, break away from the mundane, and make it a point to check out this wonderful find. It's easily located in the center of town and has ample parking. They're operational hours are currently Thurs - Sat from 8am - 6pm. Make this your next culinary destination! You'll be pleasantly surprised.
Amazing food and owner. Best sugar cookie I have ever had! Great for gluten free and non gluten free.
Delicious waffle sandwichs and frozen treats to go! A++++ highly recommended!
Type-cast, sour, souls that are still playing pretend with the sickness song and dance. Told they wouldn't give service unless I did the mask rain dance. The old biddy (probably the owner) behind the androgenous cashier had no mask on; not dangling from an ear or even stretched over the lower jaw in order to slow the spread of chin cooties! Another employee sitting at a table had the one ear dangle defense but hastily returned her nappy to full smother mode in order to join the partially muffled trio and say: "away into the darkness, ye who blaspheme the science gods!" I know there will be other Stockholm Syndrome victims reading this who will have a smug, self-righteous, glee about the victory that these courageous bakers achieved, but to the people that have neither the time nor the inclination to deal with these eternally credulous neurotics, let this be your fair warning.
I am not gluten free, but I stopped in because my daughter is. We got sandwiches, cookies, bread and pies. I would never have guessed that anything was gluten free. Everything was amazing! Wish you were in Pittsburgh!!
Suzea’s was fantastic. We stopped two days ago and thought we were in heaven. I was so happy to bring home wonderful treats for my family!
Delicious treats, very intense baker, love their baked goods, but the staff/bakers are not kind, owner yells at her staff. Lots of rules so be prepared to be reprimanded. Other stores in town confirmed that it's like that regularly not a fluke encounter. Odd that such good food is made by such cranky people.
I have not ate there yet iv had the pleasure too eat a chocolate cake that was made for me and it was so so good.they treat my niece fouder full there ad a employee.
