Super cute cafe! Great menu selection and fantastic baked goods. I had the french toast sandwich and it was mouthwatering. You select the cheese, meat and vegetables and the offerings are plenty. I chose bacon, mushrooms and banana peppers. I’m still dreaming about it.
Excellent service, not only counter but table as well. Highly recommend for lunch!
Absolutely loved my 1st visit to this place! The options are plentiful, food quality was great & delicious. The aesthetic gives a cozy vibe & there's books to read! The staff was so nice & upbeat. The lowest reviews here don't make much sense, they are positive in verbiage yet less than 5 stars. Let me tell you this place is 5 star across the board.
Great coffee, and a really good breakfast wrap. Try the cookie bread pudding!!!
One of those rare places that duplicates good food with a 1960s coffee house atmosphere. A great place to take a date or a family. They have great cappuccino and scones.

They were out of a few things, but subsumed, didn't like the endive lettuce on the sandwich, a lil light on the tomatoes, could have used more dressing, or some on the side, no bussing of tables?

What a great find! Got the grown up grilled cheese, husband got the bigger bird. Smoothies, coffee, chai, and other drinks available. Everything was prompt and delicious. Staff was friendly. And they take cards! Really good. We'll be stopping here again when we go through Middleport.
A wonderful surprise a few feet off the bike Erie Canal bike path. The staff were friendly and went above and beyond offering to rinse and refill our dusty water bottles. The menu had a nice variety of options for breakfast or lunch, food was fresh & delicious. This was the best lunch stop on the trail that I visited cycling from Buffalo to Albany.
I came in off of the bike trail in June tired, hot, and out of water. They were about to close, but the wonderful staff here took the time to make sure that I was cooled down and provisioned for the remainder of my day's ride. I'll bet that the coffee is good, but the kindness was one of my best memories.
Great place, amazing oasis on the canal, too bad is only open to 2 pm I could stay here all day :)

Fantastic place. Great staff, comfy ambiance. My salad and coffee was outstanding.
Our group was headed West out of Medina, and we were in need of some coffee. A quick search revealed Alternative Grounds. Not only was their coffee excellent, but everything we ordered was excellent. From breakfast wraps to panni's to cookies, all were excellent. They had outdoor seating as well as a large interior seating area. They occupy more than one space in the downtown area.
The staff is extremely friendly and give off a friendly vibe. The overall atmosphere with the decor, customer service, and products is warm, and comfortable. Alternative grounds is a nice place to come to get breakfast, or lunch with a nice hot, iced, or frozen coffee or tea. Along with coffee and tea, they have smoothies, pastries, wraps, sandwitches, and more. If you know what you like, they will make one of the best versions of it that youve had. Their food is delectable, and drinks refreshing. I would recommend this caffe.
