We were staying across the river in a cabin and came to Hancock to get coffee. Old Bat factory has all the standard convenience store items, along with a nice eat in/take out deli for breakfast sandwiches and lunches. The back room has bulk foods. Staff is all very friendly and the locals eating inside are friendly to tourists.
Stopped for gas and a quick bite...Great breakfast sandwich made with a fresh egg...Boar's Head Italian Sub...delicious! Lots of interesting Louisville Slugger Bat history...but the real deal is the beautiful wood construction! The Bass family has done it again...A Home Run!
The Bat Factory is a community diner/store serving simple meals and everyday supplies. This was our first American breakfast, we both enjoyed what was very different from back home, on our drive north to Niagara. We were a bit surprised by the total absence of anything the factory made, base ball bats. I see that as a missed opportunity to draw in potential customers. We chatted with a group of older gents about world problems, that made it for us, it was an eye opener how friendly Americans are once you are out of NY city. Would we go again? Probably, if we are this way again. Rather a long way from the UK 🇬🇧
Kicked us out at 10:30 and closed with. I explanation as to why not 11
Great rest stop!
I stopped over for coffee at this coffee shop and factory restaurant. Its part of the gas stations with store. They offer wraps and burgers at the restaurant area, no menu was available Green mountain coffee at the center of the store with many danish and cookies Small sitting area kinda old style
Fast, friendly, excellent breakfast sandwiches and great coffee. Gas also available.
Found this gem on the way back to NYC. Solid breakfast food and incredible locally baked goods. Try the fry pies. Super duper friendly, clean, and inviting.
Incredible name for a coffee shop. Pretty good coffee and pretty good breakfast sandwich. This place is definitely better than your average gas station fare. I recommend stopping if you're in the area. The servers and folks in the restaurant we're also very friendly, this is clearly a local hangout spot.
