My boyfriend and I went here for brunch on a Sunday to start a beautiful day in the finger lakes. I have an intolerance to gluten, so I found Aroma based on reviews that suggested they had GF options, even though their chalkboard menu didn't mention it. When I asked the woman who worked there what options they had, she gave short responses as if we inconvenienced her by supporting the business as the only customers there at the time. The next trouble was the menu itself - there was no info on the actual food, only the title of the meal. This prompted me to ask "what is in the avocado sandwich?" Because it can't just be avocado. Again, she gave her answer as if I was rude for asking despite the information simply not being available for me to figure out myself. Nonetheless, we got our drinks (a warm dirty Chai latte and a room-temp cold brew that came with no ice) and waited patiently for about 20 minutes for the food. When the food came out, the gluten free bread was largely inedible because it was stale, and my boyfriend's meal was not what he expected because of the lack of info on the menu (I'm not sure the name, but he ended up with a plate full of potatoes with one fried egg on top), although it was seasoned nicely. When we wanted to leave with a to-go box, the woman was nowhere to be found so we improvised with a coffee cup and lid. Before we left, I searched for the bathroom and found the woman sitting in a dark room with ear buds in. Thank goodness, because she was able to give me the unfriendly point to where the unmarked bathroom is. It turns out the bathroom is also a storage room and had no paper towels. Overall, I was left with the impression that customers are an inconvenience. I certainly will make a point to not return based on the customer service and I honestly wonder how places with such poor service can stay in business...
I basically grew up in Hammondsport. Was not good at all. Very huge disappointment, considering I avoided the place for 15 years. I found a hair in my drink as well. Took way too long to get 2 drinks.
A delightful, unique, welcoming space. We entered the old house turned cafe looking for a cup of coffee, not knowing what we'd find. Art adorned every wall and spilled into piles underneath, all from local artists. The owner, who somehow ran the cafe/gallery all by herself, was kind and welcoming. We picked out a few small pieces and chatted with the other patrons while she busied herself with our breakfast, then enjoyed a wonderful meal. The mint lemonade was particularly delightful! Look forward to coming again next time we're in town.
A lovely small cafe with a big selection of drinks and food. I ordered a drink with mint and I watched her go around back and pick fresh mint leaves for it, which was special and speaks to the type of business it is.
As a Newbie in town as a professional this place ROCKS! The owner is LOVELY and very warm and welcoming. she made me feel at home as well as discussed a few of the local art works with me. very tasty cold brew. nice area to add ur own sweetener(very important) clean and welcoming environment. healthy offerings and I love how they offer Israeli/ middle eastern foods. delicious. will def have lunch. coffee was A+ def a more floral fruity note than i usual drink but it was A WONDERFUL CHANCE. A+ WILL TOTALLY BE BACK💕🚲⛅
Food was good. The service has something to be desired. My friend was asked to put the creamer back in the fridge when he was done putting a splash in his coffee.
This place makes Gimme Coffee taste like a dream and the Eggs Brikah is hands down my favorite breakfast.
The food here is fresh, delicious and unique. Best falafel in NY! My sisters and I celebrated a birthday lunch here and we are very glad we did!
Good coffee! Had a blueberry scone. Loved looking at the artwork while sipping coffee.
We really wanted to like this place, but we should have listened to the reviews. It’s a really cool concept, but executed so poorly. Our food and drinks took 40+ minutes despite not having any customers ahead of us and its not being a busy time at all. People who came in after us got their food and drinks before us. We ordered a fruit smoothie, cappuccino, and the breakfast hash with turkey bacon. After we had already paid we were told they were out of turkey bacon, so we opted for sausage. The fruit smoothie was yummy, but the cappuccino was flavorless and disappointing. The hash was not hash, but rather a bunch of veggies with a super overcooked egg and “sausage” that looked and tasted suspiciously like a hotdog. For $40 we were super disappointed and left very unsatisfied. We don’t want to put down a local place, but do yourself a favor and listen to the reviews...and maybe skip eating here.
I came in with a small group and we waited 15 minutes just to order then we’re told not to ask when our food is done in 5 minutes because it won’t be done when we weren’t even done ordering and the owner was rude towards us. she seemed upset and overwhelmed that people came into her business. the chai tasted like watery milk and one of us never got their iced coffee until after his food. it seemed very unorganized and not well run. the other girl was sweet and seemed overworked because of the unorganized system. she needs a raise!!! overall the owner was very rude to us. we were here for an hour and a half before getting our food and there wasn’t anyone else ordering food. they didn’t make the right food and we had to eat the wrong food because they didn’t give us the right things. food was a solid 0/10 i would not recommend it to anyone. service was a 0/10 as well.
This is an awesome place! I just had the falafel wrap that was the best wrap I have ever had. The falafel was spiced terrific with apple and tomatoes, hummus. Perfect!
Average coffee, though whatever was been cooked smell great. Only one person so service was slow.
The food is literally amazing. Everything was made from scratch so expect a wait. my daughter had shakshuka and i tasted it. It was a first time for me. Out of this world taste. So good. This is not a “insta-food” restaurant. This is years of experience cooking food that was passed down from generations. It’s that good. We found the owner to be a delight and more than willing to educate me on shakshuka. She even offered names of restaurants near me (Philly) to visit and try their shakshuka, too. Not your run-of-the-mill breakfast place, which is what I expected. It’s a gem of a place and I can’t wait to visit again.
Really wanted to try this place out, but it wasn't open when I was there (despite Google, FB, and Yelp hours stating that they should be open). Please update your hours, or at least leave a sign in the front window if you can't be there!
35 minutes for a takeout sandwich and falafel. Expensive but tasty. Too long!
Very slow service and food was just OK. Owner/cook was not too friendly. Wouldn't recommend.
Tasty, healthy options.
We all Love coffee in all its different forms. We all literally threw our drinks away due to tasting like watery instant coffee. Lady was not social and seemed inconvenienced that we were there... what a waste of money
Such a great place! Great coffee, yummy food, and beautiful fun things to look at/purchase. I had dirty chai and the Mediterranean sandwich. The sandwich was a little messy but SO good!
