It is a shame how downhill this coffee shop went once it changed to salt city coffee. Soleil cafe was a staple of Fayetteville, NY and this place is mediocre at best. You can tell the staff doesn't want to be there, the atmosphere went from vibrant to dull, and the quality of the drinks evaporated along with its soul. I used to give salt city a try each time I was visiting home, but there is a not a glimmer of hope in there. The mom and pop aspect of "salt city coffee" went out the door - you might as well get a drink from a Starbucks. BRING BACK SOLEIL CAFE
I used to have a 5 star review for when this was Soleil. Since the change in ownership, the coffee is still good, although not as good as it used to be and the place is missing the heart and atmosphere that Taylor and her awesome Staff so expertly established.
Really good coffee and food. I wish they stayed open just an hour later. Majority of staff is friendly but there are a few who seem annoyed by customers often.
I want to give this place 5 stars, but it just isn’t what it used to be. When it was Soleil, the owners and staff were extremely friendly and personable, now I barely get a smile. I love Salt City coffee, so I will probably go to their location on Salina St next time for better service. The food is the same as when it was Soleil and still good, so that’s a plus I suppose!
Coffee was fabulous. The food wasn't spectacular.
I agree with some of the other posts about change in ownership. This location used to be Soleil and was taken over by Salt City and the atmosphere has really changed- not enough personality and lackluster service (Although there are other locations with really good service) Good coffee of course.
Just had a cup of coffee
My favorite coffee shop has lost its personality. This was my home base before Salt City took over. The staff in previous ownership was top notch and the personal touch was always present. Now, I am greeted with a cold “hello”, slow service, and nothing on my way out. Coffee is good, food is great, but the best cafes are built in personality and community.
Best coffee around, by far! Try the maple vanilla latte. They use REAL NY State maple syrup and organic products when possible. They also have nice, fresh bagels.
This was nice clean little Cafe. I met a friend for coffee here. I got the cappuccino, and my friend got a hot chocolate. He asked the staff what doesn't taste like coffee because he hates coffee. We met here on his suggestion. Weirdo. I suppose he was actually just being thoughtful suggesting it because he knew I liked coffee. I just like calling him a weirdo. It was simple and clean and the staff was really nice. Unfortunately the contraption they use to toast the marshmallows on the got chocolate was not working so my friend had to eat raw marshmallows. Haha... Nice place. Reasonable pricing and good coffee and espresso.
Amazing coffee. Extremely friendly staff and all the customers were very friendly as well. 10 out of 10.
Wow I moved to Fayetteville recently and don't even drink coffee/tea but will certainly be making this my go to breakfast spot, easily the best croissant I've ever had!
New ownership. Different food. Fewer food choices. Different employees. Fewer regular customers. Different atmosphere. The only thing the same is the location and furniture. I miss Soleil very much.
Stopped in for a cup of coffee - outstanding flavor. Highly recommend.
Great atmosphere and drinks.
I found a wonderful place. It's a bit small cafe, but it feels cozy and warm. Staffs are nice too!
As someone who isn't from NY this is my favorite spot when I visit. The environment is clean and chill. Perfect for brunch with friends. The staff is very lovely. The prices are fair and the coffee is great not to mention their syrup is made in house and not mass produced. 10/10 would recommend
I love this place! I dream of their espresso tonics.
Amazing coffee and such friendly staff. Just a great little place all around.
Amazing! You must check out Soleil Cafe.
