I flat out refuse to pass through the area without stopping at the Owl bar( been doing it for years!) The food and the service are always wonderful and the atmosphere is clean and welcoming. Definitely recommend especially if your looking for a dish with green chile.❤

It's a hamburger. Skip the dark, grease-laden fries😝 change the oil mate! If you're starving and about to cross the desert to ruidoso the burger is good.

Was a really cool place with good prices and nice staff. Very mediocre burger though considering they claim to have the best burger in the world

Great green chili cheeseburgers! Friendly staff. They let our service dog indoors with us ❤️

Been wanting to try the Owl for years, had the green chile cheeseburger and was not disappointed! Juicy with nice generous medium heat hatch chile between the hand formed patty and American cheese. Add in a great vibe and the sweetest server ever. ❤️

If you're nearby don't pass this spot! Full of history and excellent food...you won't be sorry! While the green chili burger was quite delicious the standout was the chili & beans. You're joking yourself if you order a cup...just go ahead and get a bowl or you'll end up ordering two cups as I did. So, so good. Friendly service, quick and delicious food...the perfect stop on a roadtrip! So happy to have finally been able to visit The Owl!

I just read a novel published in 1995 that had a scene set at the Owl Cafe! It mentioned the atomic scientists who used to stop in, but most importantly it said the green chile cheeseburgers and fries were incredible. So happy to see that’s still true!

Great little restaurant/bar in a most unexpected place! The Green Chile burger and fries were delicious, and there is a modest selection of craft beers available, too. Worth a trip off the interstate before or after reaching Socorro

Been there twice after watching The Round the World Guys vlog. My family and I agree this place has THE best green chile cheeseburgers ever! It's a really relaxed atmosphere. My dad told me when he was in the Army long ago, he went there every weekend to drink, play pool and eat chile burgers. It was his favorite spot when he was stationed at nearby White Sands.

We highly recommend this local place. The burgers 🍔 and fries are OUTSTANDING! The green chile burgers or cheeseburgers are the bomb!! We always come here when passing through town. I’ve finally posted a review! 🙃🙂

My wife and her family are from NM and her father used to stop and eat at the Owl Bar and Cafe when he would pass through the area. He recommended that we try it while we were on vacation in NM visiting family. We stopped for lunch on our way to Las Cruces and HOLY SMOKES! Damn good burgers! I got the green chile burger. It was just the right amount of heat for those who like spicy foods but not overpowering to the point you can't enjoy the burger. The ambience of the bar is also very fun with lots of things to see all over the wall including various police patches from all over the country. I hold law enforcement in high regard so that really was a great thing to see. I highly recommend you also stop and get lunch if you are traveling the I-25 corridor. You won't regret it.

Had my first green Chile cheeseburger while stranded here last week. The car breaking down didn't seem like a big deal after stopping here. Thanks for the wonderful service (and phone charger)

It's been around awhile and it's a great unique old bar! I've been going to it off and on for years. It had been awhile when I stopped here recently. It's very unique and a neat bar. Has good food, decent prices, and good drinks. Would be packed in any bigger city - but in a little country town and its unique that way, and you no waiting in line - just walk in & can get service within minutes. Also take in the sights for it's like a museum of Owls!

Food has really gone down hill. Use to be great food, service is great Clean bathrooms great atmosphere 👌 if Buckhorn is open I would recommend that over the owl bar. The little gas station next to it has the best fudge.

About as good as it gets for green chile cheeseburgers. Fries and onion rings are really good too.

If you can't figure out what to get, just pick something with green chili on it. Delicious burgers that aren't messy, amazing fries loaded or unloaded, and great service! Definitely coming back next time I'm in Socorro.

The food was good. One of the few places that I have found that actually know how to make onion rings. Good green chili. It's got that local bar atmosphere, so if that's something you like, it's got that.

Casual dress. The quintessential Green Chile Cheese Burger. Locals own and work here. Fresh ingredients. Fast service.
