After attending my mandatory CA Meeting (Coffeeholics Anonymous) in Belmar I decided there is no time like the present to take control of my life. I will no longer be shackled by the beliefs of those who feel it is not OK to use espresso shots as a chaser to down a handful of crunchy single origin coffee beans. Therefore I used my twitchy google fingers to find the nearest brown watering hole and stumbled upon Rook. After opening the door I entered this quaint fast paced cafe and realized I was in heavens lobby. Options Options Options is the name of the game here with coffee taps protruding from the back wall like Pinocchio’s noses. The atmosphere is tight bright and airy like I prefer in a mate. I had the coffee options explained to me and was impressed with the concise but appealing descriptions given by the barista. I chose the Bali and another of the Sumatra brew for backup (no cream no sugar) and what a tantalizing SINsation this was. The coffee did not blow my face off…but it was very good overall. Certainly no comparison and leagues above the places that rhyme with “Starsucks” and “Pumpkin Go Nuts”. I also may or may not have owned a few cafes in my past and have a greater appreciation for “the bean” than the regular Joe. It was a quick visit and it didn’t strike me as a place to hang (not sure there was seating or any food items beyond small snacks) but just order ahead and walk in to find your quick fix waiting. You’ll be equally as happy walking in and placing your order on site based on the descriptions of what’s drippin’. Don’t miss the nice little merch and whole bean coffee display area around the bend. I’d revisit again after my next meeting and so should you. This place was PACKED around 10am, the employees handled it like a dream and thankfully no one gave them a hard time that I could tell. I didn’t realize that they don’t do espresso, only drip coffee - a warning to people wanting a latte!

This is my favorite place to go for iced coffee near the shore! The summertime special, vanilla cinnamon is the best!
Great coffee expericence. I got the iced one medium roast that was good with coconut milk. Also, I bought the Ethopian beans, haven't tried that yet.

I used to love wall. Idk what's happening but every time I go recently my order is messed up every time. I'm mildly allergic to almonds and would love to stop breaking out in hives when I am under the impression I ordered oat milk
The best cold brew around! I always like to say that Rook coffee is for the real coffee lovers. You won’t find any fancy syrups like other brands. Just strong coffee, great flavor, and excellent service! During the summer time (especially on weekends), I highly recommend ordering ahead of time on the app. There’s also an option to provide “special instructions” and I use this feature to describe exactly how I want my order and adjust modifications as needed. This is my favorite Rook location, you guys are always doing your best to serve customers with quality coffee, and it shows.
Good coffee. A bit strong but doesn’t taste like flavor syrups like Starbucks coffees. Could use more variety of flavors, food and coffee options such as cappuccinos and bagels and guest seating but if you want to order simple coffee online and go then this is the place for you.

I have been ordering the New Orleans cream and sugar for 5 years. Lately it is mostly cream, no coffee taste. Inconsistent about best!!! When I asked if it could be corrected, I was told next time just asked for an extra shot of coffee. Time to move on......
When this place is busy I don’t mind waiting as I love the coffee, however I was in today, I was the only customer waiting for coffee- the baristas were talking to friends and writing names on plastic cups for a good 10 min. What I don’t understand is why no one was making the order for the person standing there! Felt unwelcome, invisible and annoyed that I was last priority- she hugged her friends good bye before even attempting to make my coffee. Just bad vibes. I get it friends come to visit but as someone who worked in the food and bev industry their whole lives- the customer comes first. Def disappointed!
Love Drip Coffee! Usually very quick with the exception of days that are crazy busy!
