We stopped by while on a long family road trip. The waitress was a total sweetheart and the atmosphere was great. The food was not amazing but it was definitely not bad. I'd stop again just for the atmosphere.

Good Food and friendly service. Had the mushroom burger and onion rings. Lettuce and onion toppings were fresh . Onion rings were done perfectly. Reasonable prices. Definitely worth trying.

This was one of the worst food service experiences we have ever had. We walked in the door at 11:15am and asked (very politely) about getting some breakfast. The server told us very defensively that they stop serving breakfast at 11. My husband asked (again very politely) if anywhere else in town was still serving breakfast because we were really looking forward to a hot breakfast. The server spoke over him and very rudely told us that, "Everyone in town stops serving breakfast at 11. If you want breakfast, you can drive an hour that way to Winnemucca or and hour and 20 minutes that way to Reno. We're 'out in the boonies here.' " She then dropped menus on our table and walked away. It was early enough that most places in town hadn't opened yet, so we decided to stay and order lunch. We waited 45 minutes for food to arrive. In that time, we were the only patrons in the place and there was one call-in order ahead of us. The lunch rush started right about the same time that we received our food. In the 20 minutes it took us to eat our lunch (which included very dry meat and browning lettuce), we watched the server treat several other out-of-towners in the same dismissive fashion while being very sweet and friendly to the locals she knew. We saw a breakfast hash come to the table right next to us (where the server's friends were sitting) and we heard another table (also very obviously friends with the server) ordering eggs over-easy with bacon. When we asked the server about it at the check-out counter, she said those people got breakfast because they asked her for it specifically. She then walked away from us while we were still in the process of filling out our receipt and didn't even acknowledge us as we left. This experience was really startling as we have normally had very warm and lovely service in Lovelock and we had a great experience at Lovelock Pizza and Inn just last night.

Great little place. Under new management. The owner is a bundle of energy and positivity. We normally get the Friday prime rib special but this time it was tacos. Good stuff! Salsa and home made chips were good. One of our group got the fresh baked chocolate chip cookie, ice cream and whipped cream on top. He loved it. If in lovelock if in Lovelock pop into the Cowpoke and get som local eats and meet the locals. Nice people.

Food not that great. Burger was ok, fries were overcooked. Service was terrible but that is what you get with untrained 12 year old servers. When you’re the only game in town you don’t need to be that good.

This was great! Traveling from CA to WY and we took a chance on this cafe to stretch our legs a bit. Small menu, excellent food, larger portions, inexpensive, quick and happy service. They even offered to give us to-go sodas when they found out we had 8 more hours to go. We were in and out and satisfied in under an hour with no pressure to leave. Would gladly eat here again.

Worst tasting brisket I’ve ever had. If I was you I would go to the Safeway behind it and get some grocery store sushi that would taste better

New management. Food was great. In a small town might be nice to great the tables. Otherwise, certainly will return.

I was hungry for breakfast and decided to stop in Lovelock a few days ago. The Cowpoke restaurant had good feedback so I gave it a try. The sausage was homemade and delicious. The eggs had a crispy crust around the edges. I love them that way. My mother always made eggs that way. The service was great, and the people were friendly. I will stop in again if I am ever in the area again.

We had a great time at cowpoke. The food was delicious, but our server Pearl was the highlight for sure. She was attentive and friendly and we had a great time getting to chat with her!

Very nice place-- good coffee, fresh food. Local business, sparkling clean, woman-owned. Developing a smokehouse, will be have expanded menu this summer. Fresh smoked meats, all locally sourced. Easy stop off the 80.

One star is generous!! Driving through and stopped for a mid morning breakfast. We waited 15 minutes before someone acknowledged us then waited another 1 and a half before we got our food. Food was cold, even if it would have been hot it was awful!! Very expensive, not worth the $ very unorganized!!
