Was told by a few people to come try Velpa out. Definitely got what we paid for and more! My daughter loved her unicorn! Will be back
Visited for the first time today. The actual milkshakes were delicious. This was all we ordered. It was very small inside, with little seating. There were two 2-tops, and then 2 futons with coffee tables. You can't see the kitchen, or where they prepare your foo. It's behind a black curtain, which is a little odd. The seating was not a great setup for eating. They only take Cash or Venmo, which wasnt ideal but luckily I have money in my Venmo today (I normally don't). We had to ask for help ordering, because the menu wasn't clear. Lots of opportunity to improve here. If the product is good though, the rest can always be fixed. They have been open a while though, so I'm a little surprised at how basic all the decor (inside and out) is still. And how basic the menu is. Put some money into your business, and it will come back to you! We will still be back, when it's nicer out and maybe we can get it to go if there's no seating.
The Churro Frape is to die for. This place is a MUST if you are in Sioux City. We brought the volleyball team here. They were great.
The staff is rather rude and unhelpful. I expected better from a family place. The food was great, but that doesn't outweigh the service for me.
The drinks in the food we’re affordable and it the customer service was amazing
Drinks were good just because of the natural fruit. The food left a lot to desire and no going back lit I asked for a GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH and it was 3 pieces of break all dry no grilled with nacho cheese that simple with some fries wth I had the pic but couldnt find it to post
Drinks were great & so fun. Food left plenty to be desired. Got a club sandwich, it was nothing but ham & cheese whiz, no bacon, no veggies. Asked for lettuce & tomato to be added, was told they couldn't. I would just suggest asking before ordering food, what it says, is not what it is.
Got the Twix milkshake, great service, amazing shake. Totally recommend!
Friendly people, nice and calm atmosphere, took a little while to get our food but it was worth it.
Did not have any food, just a drink
Nice space. Cool music. Comfy couches. Homemade sandwiches. Coffee. Just what I needed while visiting from out of town.
We went here for the first time last weekend and we cannot wait to go back. The staff was so nice and happily explained how things work. The shakes were incredible. Our party got 2 of their chocolate chip cookie dough shakes, 1 of their unicorn shakes, 1 snickers shake, 1 reeses shake and finally a brownie shake with the Dinosaur theme. They all looked AMAZING and they tasted out of this world. They accept cash and Venmo only. They are right off of Dakota Avenue so parking may be a little of an issue when coming, so you might have to walk a little but SO worth it. My husband said the Snickers shake was so close in taste to an actual Snickers it was crazy. My three year old was so excited about the Dinosaur theme. It came with two lollipops so he was on cloud nine. I asked a member of the staff what Velpa means and she said it's the owners names mashed together. Smart and a perfect name. My niece got the unicorn themed shake and she was blown away with all the things on it.
It was great the Carmel frappe was so freaking good I loved it and I also got a banana milkshake for my friend I was in a it didn’t take long at all for both of the drinks to be ready I definitely recommend going there I also gave them a tip since they deserve it I enjoyed my drink I’d definitely go there again with my friends and family sometime
OMG this place has the best and delicious milkshakes. I would recommend the unicorn or el payasito, all so good. It's a nice friendly place for kids and friends. It's pretty hidden so keep a look out for this place, it's worth going in.
Pros: This was one of the only coffee shops I've actually enjoyed being at. They were very attentive, and did a great mangonada for me, and an awesome shake for my girl. I also tried their Ferraro Rocher crepe, and was thoroughly impressed. Con: I only had my card, so I had to go find cash. (There's an ATM in the tamale place next door.. don't walk 5 blocks like I did.)
Really wanted to try this. Google said they were open. They’re sign said they opened at 12. Got there and they were not open.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-mazing. I’m so in love with this place. It’s effin’ magical!
Clean and bright atmosphere. I was excited to try them based on the excellent presentation, but, my drink tasted nothing like what I ordered. It was just a milk flavored shake, so I tossed it.
The drinks look great but they’re too sweet and not flavored enough.
Great local spot in South Sioux City. Great milkshakes that are unique and delicious
