They abuse the employees. One was a minor! Whipped her with a wet towel. I don't put up with abuse in a work area completely inappropriate and disgusting. After apologizing to mother like crazy then posted that it's a lies. I will not be supporting this business again!
Well worth taking the turn off the highway for. Probably the best muffins around. Friendly staff. Beautiful location. Motorcycle friendly parking out front. Would stop by again!
We drove an hour and a half to eat here because it had decent reviews and we were looking for a little adventure. When we walked in the gal said “we don’t have food!” ... as she served tables food. I understand that Noxon is a small town and having large batches of prepped food isn’t practical. But we drove so far and told her that and her snarky response was “of course you did...” like I would be lying? She couldn’t have offered us anything aside from cake? 15 min down the road there is a bar called naughty pine saloon and oh my lanta! The burger was huge and the naughty fries were killer! The staff there was friendly and inviting. Highly recommend you bypass this uninviting community and head on down to Trout Creek, super friendly people!
Great 😌
Amy, the owner is warm and caring as well as inviting. She works hard to keep her customers satisfied. The ambiance is relaxing with amazing food and great music, desserts, treats and items on consignment. You can shop while you eat or wait. I love coming here. All the bad reviewers have no idea as to what they're talking about. Every dish is amazing, simple and great portions.
Since we didn't have reservations we weren't aloud to eat here. My family was to big to feed I guess. My business always figures away to accommodate my customers but not this place. Lost 150.00 dollars in business. Must be rich and don't need business. Have a nice day and good luck
Wonderful, friendly staff. Great food. Thank you.
Great food!, almost never open tho:/
Incredibly kind owners, the food is that of something you get in a multiple starred Michelin restaurant. The price is very reasonable and the food is fresh. Don’t be surprised if they are sold out when you get there, they don’t serve you frozen food that is thawed out, it is all fresh. Definitely a place I will be returning to. Also, try the truffle fries, you won’t be disappointed.
Stopped in at the local hardware store and thought we'd have a sandwich. The place has excellent decor and a great 30-40s era vibe. We were treated as an inconvenience and the owner who was serving acted annoyed and aloof. We tried complementing the establishment and smiles, but the interaction was cold. The sandwich was good, but as buisness owners and former servers our selves we were off put buy the attitude in a less than busy atmosphere. Be sure to read the thinly veiled disdain in the other responses from the owner herself, nasty. Sad because it's nice to have a place to go in this remote area, but I won't pay for bad attitudes. To the owner, don't bother posturing.
Good food and nice country story with old fashioned candy.
Chris and Amy are great people! Food is absolutely delicious, and we love the shakes! Great place to relax and enjoy Montana!
Awesome place, Atmosphere, the food is direct home grown and made to order. Highly recommend. Small town, help support stop in won't be disappointed.
We had the pleasure of a relaxing visit here, this past weekend. This is one of those places you hope to find, off the beaten path. Some of the tastiest food we've ever had! I kid you not. Nothing fancy, but the taste was incredible. We had a chance to meet the owners, who actually engage with their customers. Truly sweet and intelligent entrepreneurs. Their help is exceptional, too. Friendly, courteous, and making every effort to ensure our satisfaction. What a marvelous stop this was. I was really surprised at the atmosphere, inside. Kind of old nostalgia. The items offered in the store were widely varied and of obviously good quality, matched with good prices. If you're reading this and going to be within 100 miles or so of Noxon, MT., take the time to stop by. You'll be glad you did. Oh, I almost forgot. The scenery is breathtaking! I've never seen water that color and can't even describe it. That combined with the mountains that seem to go on forever are themselves worth the trip.
We girls lunch at this well kept secret.I absolutely loved the food and atmosphere.
Small Town feel and old time values. Beautiful decor and great atmosphere.
Went in for lunch on a Sunday. When we asked about food we were offered only coffee and cake, despite a few other people around eating burgers. We asked for a table but were told we couldn't sit at a table, even though the place was nearly empty, because it would be "getting busy soon." Did not feel welcome here.
First time eating here. Breakfast was good. Pancakes were great. Good home cooking. Pastries too 👍
I love this place!!!!!
Getting to eat at the Mercantile was the highlight of visiting my dad in Montana. Three days later, we are still randomly saying "gosh that food was good." You can taste how fresh all the ingredients are and their recipes are perfection. Their fries are made of heaven and are the best I have every eaten, New York has nothing on them. This will now be an annual visit spot!
