We only ate at Wonderland. I would say if you're in Gardiner, this is a must go-to place. The food was wonderful, the staff was very friendly, and the ambiance was very welcoming. We had dinner, and then coffees the morning after. I highly recommend it.
Suit was not cleaned well before we arrived. Floors were not vacuumed and pet hair on the couch. Smell in the room was not pleasant. Sheets and pillows are dirty! Cafe experience was not great either!
Get here early and get on the wait list! A MUST in Gardiner. Veggie burger knocked my socks off. Awesome quality, and good service! :)
Wow, never tried to get into an average restaurant twice and been greeted with such arrogance. It’s gardiner guys, you’re not that awesome.
Place was awesome. Had a lot of gf options that were naturally prepared that way and didn't have to alter your meal. The elk chili and jalapeño cornbread was amazing!
Cafe has good food but we went back a second time…to order food “to go”. They told us they were too busy to handle our order. Never heard of anything so ridiculous. Won’t go back again.
According to their website and the hours stenciled on their front door, this cafe is open 7 days a week. We went to have dinner on Monday, May 22, but the cafe was closed. There were 4 other people that tried to eat there too last night, but no luck. The website and google need to be updated.
Our room (Grizzly Den) was the best part of the Gardiner experience.
This place was recommended for dinner by our hotel, so we decided to give it a try. We had a cute waiting area by a stone fireplace, and it was only 20 minutes. Keep in mind you're in a tourist town by Yellowstone. The service was slow, and the server forgot a few different things. That said , it was busy, her tables were triple seated, and I think she had been there all day. The Elk chili was my mission, and I can say I loved it. Not over seasoned, rich and hearty. We loved the corn bread it came with so much we ordered an appetizer of it. Jalapeño , not hot, homemade with marscapone whip on top. We wanted local eats. However, the tomatoes in our salad were challenging, and the salad plate was hot. Our wings had the incorrect sauce, they were good and a decent size. Try the Elk chili for sure.
Curry lentil soup was good and BLT w Avocado was as well. Nice beers. Service was a little slow and perfunctory but I will come back.
We went there for dinner on our last night in Gardiner. Really loved it.
Of the numerous restaurants visited during my five days in the Yellowstone area, the Wonderland Café was absolutely one of the best. The ambiance, service, and food were all phenomenal! I had the BLTA – loaded with fresh avocado and tasty bacon! Others in my party were equally impressed with the chili and Gardiner burger. Cheese cake is to die for! Coffee was excellent as well. Wait staff were very attentive, friendly, and offered great advice on menu selections. Looking forward to coming back again on a future visit.
After a long trip down through Yellowstone it was an excellent lunch. Most of us got the Wonderland burger that was absolutely delicious. Definitely would suggest pairing with the Huckleberry mimosa.
Excellent food. Best in Gardiner, MT. We ate there twice and both meals were excellent. Service was very good for how busy the restaurant was. Be prepared for a wait as the do not accept reservations. Good menu choices and a fine selection of beers on tap.
Went here for lunch and loved my meal! I got the Elk Chili Mac and Cheese with Fried Pickles as the appetizer. Both were great. I do wish there was a bit more chili in the dish but other than that it was perfect!
This was a lovely restaurant to eat in! It definitely was the talk of the town, as everyone was trying to get in. Come early, or try for reservations if you can. They had the best variety in town, and it was worth the wait!! I had the Wonderland Elk burger, and a bottle of lovely Washington Cabernet. The staff was lovely. I would definitely come back again if ever in town!
We ate dinner twice at the Wonderland while in Gardiner because it was so good. Highly recommend any dessert they may serve plus the ribeye steak, the Hummus plate with yummy, crispy pita, and their juicy, amazing burger. The service both nights was stellar too.
I had the Caldera burger. Beef was cooked medium and it had just the right amount of spicy kick. Sweet potato fries were a great side. My flight of local brews were very tasty. Very good service. Would eat here again
The room was very nice with views of Gardiner and the mountains. All of the amenities of an apartment are in the room. My only pet peeve is that the towels and wash clothes are brown-color. Otherwise, everything was great. The cafe is absolutely the best is Gardiner, no one else comes close. The burgers, sweet potato fries and local draft beer were very tasty.
The food was good but there's an automatic 15% gratuity added to a takeout order. I love to pay a tip for service, but for take away no service is provided, only cooking and sadly the cooks do not receive the tip anyway. No other place in town charges an automatic gratuity for take out. It's hard to justify and leaves a sour taste and makes me not want to eat here again.
