Super nice people run the place and recommended the Bison Ice Cream. I have to admit after - or before, a long day of watching bears the Bison Ice Cream was the best. Would definitely go back. Pay them a visit.

Great trading post/country store atmosphere with very hospitable, courteous and attentive owners! Easily and conveniently accessible on the way to Yellowstone, with great views of the mountains in the back. Good place for supplies, good tasting ice cream, coffee, tea and snacks of all kinds and cool souvenirs and decor items.

Cheryl & Jill are wonderful, so down-to-earth, and very kind people. STCTP is locally famous for their delicious ice cream, and they also have a fun selection of locally made souvenir items. Highly recommend!

Really great service and a huge ice cream cone for only $4! Great little place that isn't ripping off tourists.

Decided to check out this tiny town to grab a snack while we were in Yellowstone. I saw the ice cream and milkshakes sign and pulled in before I even saw the funny name of this store. We were greeted by two nice ladies who turned out to be the owners and they gave us first timers some great advice for exploring the park. Great little shop with lots of little things but most importantly, their ice cream was delicious. Butter pecan and huckleberry were my choices and it didn't disappoint. They said most people will eat the ice cream wishing they for a bigger size....and they were right. As we're driving through the park all I could think about was driving back to get more but we were short on time. Will visit here next time for sure and I highly recommend this place for their food, hospitality and excellent advice. Thank you again 😊 Sincerely, a Navy vet 🇺🇸

Best ice cream I have ever been served. I had the huckleberry and it was marvelous and portion was generous. Friendly and helpful staff, quaint store.

On January 9th I got discriminated against at this store. I'm disabled and I can't use a mask. Even though I told her of my disability and that under the Americans with disability act I'm exempt from wearing a mask a lady at the door refused to let me in. Shame on them! To the owners response I'm adding a screenshot of a CDC statement for people who can't wear a mask. Also the employee was protected because she was wearing a mask!

Stopped here randomly on my way to Yellowstone and it was perfect! I bought some fun postcards, art, and coffee! Everything was great and the person working was even better! They gave us great recommendations and tips for the park and even offered to let us borrow their bonoculars/bear spray. They were super friendly and helpful! Such a nice little gem! I’m so glad we decided to stop here!!!

I always look forward to arriving at Silver Gate when Stop The Car is open. The staff are always efficient, pleasant and fun and their coffee and ice cream are the best. Even better when the crew are providing food. Excellent Elk Chili and Cheesesteak sandwiches! Don't drive through without stopping - you won't be disappointed. Thanks, Stop The Car gang!!!
