Great tasting coffee, warm & friendly service, and a lovely atmosphere. It’s a little on the speedy side, but you get what you pay for. I’d happily return.

Great coffee and scones!! Take a stroll thru the greenhouse, it's lovely! Parking can be a pain sometimes.

Easily one of the best lattes I’ve ever had. I visited multiple times (and two different locations) on my vacation and will happily visit next time I’m in the area. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is very friendly. It’s also dog friendly!

Amazing coffee shop, attached to the Roots Garden center. Always a great experience, whether going for coffee / tea, pastries, plants, jewelry, or art.

Love this place! We've visited Black dog for both business and pleasure. The bright and clean atmosphere, fresh coffee and abundance of plant life melds to create a comforting and engaging environment that you can't get anywhere else in Billings.

How can you give a ten star review!?! Seriously this place is awesome! The coffee..... I mean to find words to describe how amazing my Carmel macchiato was is a challenging feat so instead I'm just gunna say "Wow!!!" Soooo good and the atmosphere is so welcoming I had to come back for a second cup. Keep up the stellar work! The young ladies working there were very nice and both deserve a raise/bonus for their great customer service and hospitality.

Black Dog on Poly is one of the best places in Billings to wander indoors, enjoy a perfect mocha (not too sweet) at the perfect temperature (not too hot), visit with a friend, enjoy the neighbors and their dogs (there are always dog treats on hand), pick up some cards or jewelry by local artisans, annnnnd … Even purchase a perfect succulent! (And I say that as someone who fears plants because I have never been able to keep them alive.) Somehow the owner and his team give you just enough hospitality, warmth, professionalism, and care to give you courage to try new things, too. I would also like to express particular appreciation for the diversity of humanity that is welcomed at this establishment … old/young, loud/quiet, neurodiverse/neurotypical, alone/in groups. It is truly becoming one of my favorite places to enjoy in Billings and I highly recommend it.

Black Dog continues to impress with its new location in the Roots Garden Center. The perfect spot to walk, peruse the plants and gifts, or find a secluded couch for a private chat.
