Tried the Ube Latte as a new experience and will try it again.
Outdoor patio. Very nice !
Kaldis was such a welcoming environment- it felt like I was at home. Our barista Rachel was so sweet and made the perfect drinks for us!! Highly recommend when Rachel is there :)
Had an iced vanilla latte here that was fantastic! If I lived in the area, it's possible I would frequent this place.
Kaldi's is the best coffee in St. Louis. I know they're not as small and niche as some coffee shops, but they've got their art down. My go-to is simply a 12 oz. Mocha with oat milk. With or without whipped cream depending on my mood. For food, I really like the black bean burrito or the egg and cheese bagel. You will find at any Kaldi's, including DeMun, a very warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly baristas, and top-tier handcrafted beverages. Kaldi's baristas are trained to do latte art, and they put effort and care into crafting your beverage. This is in contrast to Starbucks that pumps out drinks as fast as possible to maximize revenue. The DeMun location has seating inside and out, and you can't beat sitting outside on a nice day, which is right across from a park. It is a smaller cafe, so seating can sometimes be limited inside especially over the weekend. There are also limited AC outlets, so be sure your laptop is charged if you plan on doing a little work from here. If DeMun is too crowded, you can always try their other locations on Skinker and in the Central West End. Both are very close. The DeMun location's food selection is also strictly vegetarian, so if you are craving meat, you'll want to choose a different Kaldi's. They do have meat alternatives, though.
Service is great. Wish there was more seating.
The Demun location is always extremely slow. I only ever go here because it is close and I have been trying to spend a gift card I have had for years. Expect to wait 30 minutes for a smoothie and a bagel, or if you get something to-go, expect them to forget the butter you had to pay extra for, etc.
first time seeing this place. But the coffee was delicious, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who likes mocha. This is the best cafe in St. Louis.
Recent unfortunate experience where we waited for over half an hour for a salad. It was sitting waiting in the "to-go" despite being ordered "dine-in." We were left with what was clearly a half order of a salad which made for a very delayed and overpriced experience.
Great neighborhood place but seems like the coffee has been off lately. The service for the food was less than reputable lately as well when there was at least 8-10 employees and it took 45 minutes for a breakfast bowl. Fairly positive it was forgotten about.
The coffee and food is always good here. They were a bit under staffed. The seating area is old and it was not kept clean.
They are closed, but you have no way to know unless you go and see the notice on the door. The sign says 2/8 and maybe 2/9 and 2/10, but they're still closed on 2/12.
Love Kaldi coffee. Aside from the coffee they have a great selection of teas and finger foods. Scones, breads, and a few sandwiches. Mostly though just a chill place to hangout. Have meeting, see an old friend. Just by and relax.
There are some good folks working here, and some presumptuous little humanoids, too. May you always be graced by the former.
Staff are always friendly and food and drinks are great. Been going here for 12 years.
This original location maintains a charm and a neighborhood feel that no other Kaldi's location can quite match. Also, the quality and attention to detail, especially on the pour-over and espresso drinks, is always top notch. Grab a seat on the sidewalk or with a window view to relax with the seminary grounds across the street filling your vision and the coffee grounds having contributed their own special sweetness to your cup.
Nice cozy space but the coffee hasn’t been good every time I’ve come. And if you need space to work, must come early or after 10:30 because it fills quickly. Also charge your devices ahead of time because there aren’t many outlets available. Staff are generally nice. Food is so so
Super friendly people and great drink options!
Always good but never quite great. The food options are on the healthy side (vegan, gluten-free) which is great and inclusive. For a butter loving carb-lover, it leaves me a little wanting. The gooey butter pieces are generous and delicious and my go-to. I wish they would bring back the Mayan mocha. It was a grown up hot chocolate that no one else makes. Instead, I get a latte that every coffee shop makes. Plenty of seating in the back room or outside but if more than a few tables are taken, it can be noisy. For those setting up to work for a while, you will want to bring headphones.
Stopped in for a quick drink and was greeted by Jay. He was so nice and provided excellent customer service! Any company would be lucky to have an employee like Jay.
