Great hometown comfort food. Just like your youth or what your grandparents made. You feel welcome and at home here. Take some great pie to go!

I got the Rodney which is a Reuben on rye really good, and a piece of strawberry rhubarb pie!

It's sad to see a longtime staple in the area lose its shine. Our server was the highlight of our time here. Chicken came in number 2, the rest was a fail. Mashed potatoes were virtually inedible with a gloppy, gelatinous "gravy" on top, green beans were OK, bread was nuked store-bought that turned to stone after sitting a while. Don't know who told them their coleslaw recipe is good, but the only way I could eat it was adding tons of sugar, salt and pepper. Tasted like the ingredient list was cabbage, onions and vinegar. Lesson learned. The pies have always been a popular offering here, but we recalled the last time we tried it so we passed. We're really not fussy. Can't say we'll go back, sadly.

This place is an dear old favorite , and that is for all the important reasons. The food can be counted on to be the exact same yum that I e always known Cooky's Cafe to be. Fresh homemade pies are baked daily .. Main courses have a lot to offer with locally farm raised pork, and beef.. who really knows about the chicken's background?? ... but the pies!!! If you get a chance , and you are sliding through GoldenCity , Missouri , ya gotta 🛑 in this place , and you should have no problem finding it.

Good location, easy to find, good food at a grrat price. Lots.pf.locals hang out there so the waitress is constantly on the move. She does a great job but because of the number of customers, there may be a short wait.
