Get your nordic-fix at the bakery and gift shop. The lemon Bismark, strawberry-rhubarb turnover were delicious!

Our shipment arrived in Texas 2 days after shipment. The lease packages were fresh and still cool. We have enjoyed a couple packages so far, with several more in the freezer. We will be ordering more when we run out!

Call ahead for new hours. We drove out of the way to go here and they were closed before 2pm without a posting saying why. No hours listed on the door either.

After hearing so many great things at work about this place, we were profoundly disappointed with the service during our visit. We arrived just after 12:30 pm, and two other couples who arrived after us both had their orders taken and received their food well before us. It took 35 minutes to get our food after ordering as “the lefse is frozen this time of year” so we start to eat around 1:20 pm. Shortly thereafter, workers are cleaning up around us, banging chairs, running the vacuum, as the place closes at 2:00 pm, but it was only 1:40 pm and it took forever to get our food due to their taking orders of others ahead of us. Also the server was just clueless about the basics of serving. We will not be back.

Don't let the lefse throw you off if you're not Norwegian and have no idea what it is - this place is great! I'm not even Norwegian, and normally I'm not the biggest lefse fan (only ever had it with sugar before, not my thing). But when it's used in place as a tortilla, sign me up! We had the Breakfast Uffda wrap with hollandaise sauce for breakfast and were glad we asked the waitress whether it was big enough to split. It was huge, definitely enough for both my mother and me to feel like we weren't sharing a meal; it would have been way too much for one person if we'd each gotten one. The coffee was great, and then there was the case of goodies up front to choose from. The scones were particularly good for an on-the-road snack later in the day. Forgot to take a picture of the breakfast, as we devoured it. And the price? $8.95 for two people? Unheard of in these crazy times!!! We loaded up on goodies to bring home and it was still only $18 without the tip.

You may not know what Lefse is but you should count yourself lucky if you have a chance to have some from Norsland. With real potatoes and the watchful eyes of the expert backers you could be having one of their giant rounds with some soft butter and sugar and rolled up into a holiday treat.
