the pancakes. THE PANCAKES!!!!! the food was so good, we ate 3 meals between the 2 of us when we heard there was a waffle special. on our way there for a late lunch. we’ve been there everyday of our trip to get donuts if they’re not sold out. the staff is wonderful. really glad we tried this spot!
You gotta stop here for a doughnut 🍩!
I'll be back. I've always enjoyed myself when stopping here for a bite to eat.
Best family run Restaurant around and the food is out of this world. The workers are the very best around 👌
If this restaurant is still operating after I ate there 50 years ago - it has to be good!
Been many years since I've been there, was happy to see they still have all day breakfast and still making those awesome peanut butter twist rolls. I left there a happy camper ☺️
Wonderful food at a quick pace! Will definitely eat here again!
Great spot for brunch and lunch. Service was great, food was delicious hot and worth it. Came in last minute with a large group, sat immediately and had a great experience. Highly recommend and will go back again. Thank you!
Good food, GREAT people. We popped in on a Thursday afternoon as we passed through town. The lunch hour had come and gone. I consulted Google for nearby dining options. “There’s a place next door that serves burgers and sandwiches, but also all-day breakfast and really big donuts,” I reported, “or a place a couple miles down the road that serves burgers and sandwiches. Or a place thirty miles further on that serves…” “Burgers and sandwiches?” “How did you know??” “Let’s got to the first place. They sound the most interesting.” As we walked in, we noted the sign that said CASH ONLY and thought, “uh oh.” We try to carry cash, but it’s been a cashier trip than usual. Stocks were running low, and the only ATM card in our possession was more than a year expired. “I count twenty-five bucks,” I said, riffling through my pockets. “We’ll that’s enough for two lunch specials and a pair of cokes!” said the man behind the counter. “Grilled cheese and a bowl of chili is the special today.” This sounded absolutely perfect (though D upgraded to stuffed hashbrowns and we skipped the drinks), so we tucked in. The man who fed us (married into the family who’s owned the joint for the last 85 years, I believe) chatted with us about chili recipes, the restaurant building, and the delights of very small town living. The total for our meal came to $22.50, leaving only the meagerest of tips, but when I managed to scrape $3.10 from the nooks and crannies of our car, with my eye on a giant donut, our host generously upgraded me to one of the twists (which I’d obviously been eyeing more covetously) even though I was a few cents short there, too. These folks are obviously in the biz for the people. The food was perfect early-fall comfort food, but the company and kindness of the proprietors was definitely the highlight. The donut twists are as delicious as advertised. I advise getting one of each.
Breakfast was delicious and great view sitting on the deck.
Best hashbrowns ever!! The food is amazing. I only go to Orr once a year, and have to stop in every morning before I leave.
It was perfect i will be going back..
Service was good! Food was good
Food is good! Service is also good!
We had an amazing experience here! Staff was friendly and very accommodating to my son’s allergies, they even made him chicken strips for breakfast! Portions were huge! I highly recommend the stuffed hash browns & fluffy raspberry pancakes!
Home cooked food in a casual, family style setting. They are known for awesome breakfasts and pastries, but you won't drive away hungry no matter what time of day!
Eat here! Spent a week in the Orr, MN area and ate at Pattenn’s 3 times. Friendly service, The loaded hash browns are a must. Meals served quick and hot. Doughnuts, pies, and pastries are homemade. Listen for bell from the upstair’s kitchen …your meal’s about to be served.
Great family run - small town restaurant. Good food, great service, fantastic pastries.👍👍
Loved this place, it has great history too. The ambience was decent and clean. The food was great, absolutely loved the omelette and pancakes. The coffee was good too. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They do sell donuts too if you want to grab n go. The only decent breakfast place in and around that area. Loved the photographs on sale. This is a hotspot in the area. I would definitely go again. The front door is not wheelchair accessible but they do have a back door but not sure if they have rampway.
Friendly service and excellent food.
