All was good, but a bit different than most resturants.

What a cute place! We have been driving by for years and have never had the chance to stop. Today we were able and we are so happy we did. Good food, very nice and helpful staff, and the atmosphere is homey and welcoming.

Loved the setting and the historic home. Food was very well prepared. Price too high for portions.

We had the gustaf melt and brick house— both were so good, fresh ingredients! And the service was amazing :) highly recommended!

Boutique cafe with swedish twist. The Lindstrom is quiche like and delicious. The panhandler has cheesy potatoes that was cooked perfectly. Try both! Family friendly, but no white milk or tap water.

I attended a tea party here recently, food was tasty, as well as a very good variety of finger sandwiches, and delicious tomato soup. The young gentleman waiting on us did a fantastic job, and for his first day! The issue I have is with the woman telling each of us as we paid that "gratuity is expected". This comment altered my experience, which up to that point had been good. A business should never say "gratuity is expected", but rather gratuity is appreciated. I even overheard her say to a customer, "20% is the usual amount". Shame on you for asking/expecting more, while really you should be grateful for each customer that walks through your door each day, and appreciate what they can afford to give based on service. In response to your comments regarding my review: We were fully aware of the cost per person and that gratuity would be our responsibility. There was never a misunderstanding on this. Like I said in my review, my issue was with how it was addressed to each customer. In my opinion it is highly unprofessional to tell a customer "gratuity is expected". Everyone that has ever eaten out obviously knows what gratuity is and should be allowed to decide on their own if they want to tip, can afford to tip or feel the service deserves a tip. Instead you could say "gratuity is appreciated" with a smile, which is a much friendlier statement, and would probably be received better. Remember gratuity is not a mandatory payment, it is optional, no matter what you expect.

A peaceful environment, delicious food, and welcoming staff. We enjoyed the pappy's breakfast and the chicken wild rice soup. When leaving we order the chicken pot pie to take home, which we have yet to try but I bet it'll be delicious 😋. Only thing was when checking out I used a card and the gentleman helping asked if I wanted to tip on the card and I said no ill tip in cash and put a 20 dollar bill in the tip jar but after we left I realized he also put a 20 dollar tip on my card as well. So I ended up paying 98 on my card and 20 in cash for two pappy's breakfast, bowl of soup, a cup of ice cream, pot pie and a pint of kitty kitty bang bang ice cream. So next time I'll know to just pay in cash, so there is no misunderstanding!
