Best lunch we have had in a long time
Great breakfast and service!
I got some baked goods for my parents that lives in lower Michigan. And a few more Christmas gifts for my daughters. Keep up the good work.

We really enjoyed our stay at the inn. The room was comfortable and it was very quiet for a peaceful night’s rest. It’s hard to beat the smell of fresh baked goodies as you walk in. Breakfast from the restaurant was included with our stay, and it was delicious! If we take a UP trip again, this quaint and charming spot will be on our list. Highly recommend!
The McMillan house was an amazing experience! I loved every bit of it. The reviews were right, the breakfast was awesome! Easy check in and out! I would stay there again!
Outstanding little bed and breakfast in a very old house. Despite this the rooms and common areas are VERY clean, the food is fabulous and the staff and owners are enjoyable and kind people. The included breakfast alone easily makes for a 30 dollar per night value for two against the cost of the room. The grounds are peaceful and beautiful with a pond out back and past that a gorgeous lake. Excellent central location for many adventures. Fresh baked goods and excellent sodas for sale and a great little mercantile next door for general goods. Book or dine here with confidence. We will be back.
Party of 10 with reservations at 7:15. Did not get served for over 2 hours. Food was below average at best and extremely overpriced. Ribs were dry and shrimp came from a bag. Service was terrible. Waitress could have cared less about our wait . Didn’t even apologize for the wait and the drinks were watered down at $8 pop. Terrible!!!

Fantastic food and service! We only got there once for breakfast but would love to go again. Everything was fresh and handmade, including the bread and strawberry preserves too. Would love to get back for the Friday fish fry someday. I believe hours are limited to breakfast and lunch during the week.....be sure to check.
What a wonderful place! We stayed here one night as we traveled to Hiawatha National forest last fall. The fall colors were gorgeous. It was comfortable and clean to sleep. My daughter said the style of the cottage, floral bedding, cute pillows looked like from her books about forest fairies. Soo charming! 😍 The breakfast was included in our stay and the portions were giant. Amazing food, great staff, we were treated like a family. I really hope to come back! Such a gem!
Fantastic! Food was great! My burger, kids chicken tenders, fried pickles, fries and desserts…staff was super friendly as well. Highly recommend!
My husband and I love Helmer House. In a day and age where music blares and tvs distract, this beautiful place gives you a sense of peace and connection with the folks you are dining with. We love getting away to this gem when we are in the North woods!

This place and the owners are fantastic. Employees are the best. The food is home-cooked and delicious. Always a special on the board that will make you think of your grandma. Like going back in time, this historic building is charming and comfortable. They rent rooms too. Give it a try you will not be disappointed.
Very accommodating! We reserved a room that was a bit too small for us, and they were very willing to work with us about moving rooms! The food was also amazing!
