How does the best Orange Juice in the world end up in Marquette, Michigan? Listen to me, call the recruiter Sgt Hernandez down the road, go join the Air Force, travel all over the world and try to prove me wrong. You’ll still find your way back up north for this liquid gold!
Service was slow, food was cold and the hashbrowns were a tiny, burnt embarrassment. Definitely won't go back.
We came here for my Bach Party breakfast. The Food is seriously absolutely amazing. So fresh, Quick and DELICIOUS. We would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. (:
I visited Donckers specifically because they have vegetarian options & I was not disappointed! I ordered the Jasmine sandwich, which has a portobello mushroom in place of meat, as well as goat cheese & sun dried tomatoes. So so good!! 👏🏼
Great food, fun atmosphere. They do not service breakfast all day.
Customer service was amazing. Breakfast was delicious and very affordable. I am a big fan of painted rocks and loved the collection here I wish there a was sign so you could learn the back story of why they have so many? Also bought some chocolate here which were delicious too - but less affordable. $7 for a tiny bag of non pareils was a bit steep!
Had a decent sized party, we got sat right away and were all taken care of extremely well! When we were finished with our wonderful meal we had a chance to browse the wide selection of candy and gifts. Y'all definitely left a wonderful first impression :)
The place is cute but the prices are way too much. I bought a box of truffles and they were over $3.00 each truffle. I can go back home down state and get truffles that are better for less at Kilwins. Over priced and when I asked about the price being so high, I was told that they have to pay for the boxes and that price gets passed into us, as shoppers. This place is over rated like the majority of Marquette. Perfect for the tourist, and way too much for the people that live here. One more reason not to shop downtown! Thanks Donkers for pricing way out of your league!
Placed on online order for items (candy) listed as in-stock on their website. This was three days before the Christmas weekend, but with only three items in total, I figured it had a chance of shipping before the holiday. Had two options for shipment at checkout, 1.) USPS or 2.) "Ground Shipping" which was $2.00 more. I've had issues with USPS in the past, so I opted to pay more for Ground Shipping (expecting UPS or FEDEX etc.). Took over a week for them to ship the order, and they still shipped it USPS; apparently they are just going to pocket the extra shipping charge. They've not yet responded to my query from ~2 weeks ago. I think the candy and confections are quality, and I loved their store growing up as a kid in Marquette, but it was a pretty unresponsive and subpar online shopping experience.
Amazing Cobb Salad! Every single ingredient was super fresh. I am very hesitant about chicken in restaurants, but I loved their grilled chicken. Also enjoyed their blue cheese dressing.
Northern charm and a delightful menu make this UP treasure a must visit, plus a chocolatier on the 1st floor
Homestly I'm really not one to leave low reviews but here it is. I truly believe people in the UP don't know what good food actually is. I came here with high praise from many people. Cheese on my grilled cheese wasn't even melted, and for 13 dollars I'd expect more than a single slice of Gouda and cheddar. Also, the tomato soup. How can you even serve that? It was so bad, almost had an essence of vomit. The food scene in the UP is so so bad.
We ordered a Tuna Melt and a Hamburger with grilled onions and blue cheese. Both were very good and the hamburger was one of the best I’ve had in Marquette.
A must-stop. This time I got breakfast. Soups are always amazing.
Nice lunch spot and candy shop in downtown Marquette. The candy and knick knacks are super cute and a lot of the desserts look home made and delicious. The lunch menu upstairs has a lot of good stuff and they have a lot of home made soups and sides. The sandwiches are great and the broccoli cheese soup is some of the best I've ever had. Their Mac and cheese sounds really good but ended up being a bit bland, but everything else was fantastic. Good place for snacks and lunch.
I ordered 2 eggs OM bacon hash browns cinnamon raisin toast with 0ne pancake. When food was served no bacon was given eggs were cooked over hard. All food was cold could not melt butter on pancake. Requested they warm in microwave they didn’t have one. So they made me a newly made breakfast and gave me 50% off. So I basically ate by myself as my spouse was finished eating by the time I received my food. Although they gave a discount they still miss charged me on my bill of which I had to point out for the correction. Take note…. They were not busy. All thing aside it is possible there was a new staff on as I checked reviews before my visit and they received high reviews. On a positive staff was friendly and the place was unique. My spouses food was hot and there second attempt on my food came out hot and good.
Very cool local restaurant with great views! Don’t forget to get some candy!!
Very cool eclectic restaurant for Marquette. Not cheap but we ate very well and loved it. Super busy so we knew it must be good.
This place is awesome!!! 125 YEARS OLD and has stayed true to its authentic candy counter and restaurant style. We've made it a tradition to go on the first day of school for breakfast and love the lunches. Great Food!!! Owners "Jen & Tom" are the best, both as owners and in our community!!!
Great little shop that offers all kinds of chocolates, candies, and sweets. I bought a bag of carmels that were delicious. I believe they also offer food but we didn't get anything while we were here.
