Okay, is there a version of New Orleans beignets? However, I had to tell them how they are prepared. When they give you their beignets they don't put enough powdered sugar in New Orleans. It's a half a bag of powdered sugar so I explained it to him and they stay added more. They actually gave me more and it was good. You know in New Orleans they're a little bit bigger. Little bit warmer when you get it. Just know whenever you eat a beignets you have to eat them immediately. You don't take them back to your car cuz once they cool off they're no good. They're bricks but this is their version of it. Is it's okay? The food is okay. They add spices but they don't add the flavor that you get in New Orleans. And again I think that's just a touch thing. A soul thing. I've always said you can't gourmet soul food, so anyway it's worth a try. The service is great. They have a lot of things there if you tours and just want to buy something trinkets and everything like that. But the beignets are they're okay. They're not New Orleans beignets but is there version of it so try it
Absolutely delicious- and friendly!
I used to really love and enjoy this place . The coffee was rich and the beignets had a sweet fluffy taste to them . I tried the new gator bites and they were phenomenal! They had that Cajun KICK! then I came back this week , the taste is very bland and super hard to chew! The coffee I once loved now turned to a very tart tasting coffee that subsides the richness I once loved in my old Joe . I don’t know what has happened but my 45 minute trips may have to take a curve now . The staff remains very friendly ! Great kids !
Gator bites and gumbo was great! All the Cajun is great!! Good for a quick lunch break! Overall great job marketing and promoting! We went to the one in the River Place outlet and ran into the street one. Stickers, to go bags, and apparel!
Honestly don't understand the hype about this place neither the beignets or the coffee are great. I definitely wouldn't go back.
Do not skip this jewel of a cafe when visiting. The gator bites, gumbo, and beignets are outstanding. I love the made with care atmosphere that the staff showed to us as first timers. My family and I will be back!
Every good the gator is fabulous a must try
N’Orlins in Frankenmuth, Michigan. We’ve never been to New Orlando but this quaint shop makes me want to go. The beignets were delicious and the chai tea latte as delicious. The coffee was basic coffee, nothing special. We also tried the gumbo which was very spicy 🌶️ but tasty; their jambalaya was tasty as well but not as spicy. I will definitely go back there on my next visit to Frankenmuth. They are a must try. They also have a nice selection of mugs and other novelty items.
I love their beignets with raspberry dipping sauce. Can get with or without powdered sugar covering. A must stop every time I'm in the Frankenmuth area.
The beignets are absolutely amazing, so tasty...
I had a pint of gumbo. I'm not used to Cajun food, but I enjoyed it. It had a flavorful broth, large chunks of chicken, and pleasantly spicy (hot) slices of sausage. I found it very filling. I got the meal with six beignets. They are much larger than the pictures suggest, and piping hot. Definitely order the beignets if you go there.
Love this place. I will say there prices have gone up a lot. Still good though.
We got beignets and a gumbo. Both were absolutely amazing.
There...... this past July 2022 on a hot day. But the hot coffee was extremely good.
The staff genuinely care about the customers. The beignets are fresh and hot and the hot chocolate is great
Enjoyed the gumbo and beignets! We left some items in the store and the owner came back after hours, in a blizzard, to let me get my belongings back. He’s such a nice man!
Friendly staff, clean facility, delicious beignets, mod coffee(could be slightly stronger). Fair to high priced. Always come back just for the treat/experience with the kiddos
Great spot for a snack and good coffee. Solid service as well.
Not for the sugar conscious, the beignets are liberally dusted with powdered sugar and there are several flavored syrups available for dipping said beignets. Way too tasty...
My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined. TL;DR: Weak coffee, lackluster gumbo, and severely undercooked beignets. Won't be returning. ----- Let's start that the service was prompt and kind, no issues with that at all. The food though... Having had my fair share of beignets, coffee, and gumbo in New Orleans proper, I was ecstatic to see the high ratings of this establishment when we decided to make the trip up here for a weekend getaway. Ordered the gumbo special (2 pints gumbo with a half-dozen beignets), along with a cafe au lait, and a couple other drinks for the kids. Beignets... Too dense and underdone, completely closed structure, with an unfortunate taste of raw flour when biting in. No puffiness, no lightness. They're hot and all, obviously fresh out of the fryer, but... This isn't a proper beignet. At best, it wasn't fried long enough. Someone needs to up the Quality Control game here. Also... They're pretty small. The gumbo... I consider gumbo a damned near perfect soup. So much flavor can be packed into a little bowl. Not here though. The broth is downright watery and under-seasoned. It lacked any sort of meaningful mouthfeel. It's actually really strange to see all the okra in there for how watery it is. It's spicy, sure, but it's not a mouthful of deeply spiced and toasted-roux thickened broth that makes a genuine bowl. The spicy heat was more just straight heat than a nice amalgamation of spices that happened to generate some tingle on the tongue. The chicken is a travesty of seems-like-non-homemade, questionable quality. If it IS homemade, they need to change their recipe or the source of their chicken because something is waaaaay off. It smacked of commercially mass-produced refrigerated grilled chicken that was reheated when it was thrown in the soup. Please correct us if we're wrong though... but that's how it tasted to us. There was also just a couple little slices of sausage in each of our pints, seemed... Lacking. Cafe
