Great small town, off the beaten path place! Very friendly, good food, and cool decor. I recognized a lot of the tons of lunch boxes from my youth (1960's &70's).
Nice little dinner, good service. We have only had breakfast here, but we have always been happy with it.
The special was meatloaf, mashed potatoes gravy very good. But there was no veggies.

First of all when you walk in the dining area is all natural wood-different varieties hickory cabinets lunchboxes on a shelf from Hello Kitty to aluminum to the Detroit Red Wings E.T. just very cool now on to the service and food as soon as you sit down the server comes over with menus and drink order and let's you know what the special is. The options are full service breakfast to a full dinner with REAL mashed potatoes and gravy also soup and sandwiches The portions are substantial and come out hot, cooked properly and very tasty. So you all should try it but the bad part about the Lunchbox is they are only open until 3pm . But it is worth it
Great lunch, plenty of options. I had the hot beef and gravy over mash potatoes. Absolutely delicious. I hope to visit again soon.

Excellent Diner and made from scratch food. Everything on the menu is great. The corned beef hash is freshly made and delicious. The jelly for your toast is homemade. You can't beat breakfast from the Lunchbox. Know that it's a breakfast and lunch place, so check the open time if you are a late eater.
We travel to Alpena to visit family from down state several times a year. Can’t say anything bad about this diner.
Nothing fancy. Just great food and service. Try the pancakes..! You will not be disappointed.
