Cute local spot. - good wifi - good seating for 10 people or so - excellent iced oat latte
Friendly staff, reasonable prices, high quality products.
This place is the benchmark of good coffee. Consistent and good. I haven't had anything else though really.
Best coffee anywhere! Can have coffee and pastry in the cafe ... if you can find a free seat 😁 Also a good selection of beans and some accessories are available.
Excellent service, come check them out, will be going there alot now!!
I live a 15 minute walk from the center of town. I walked through fields and passed doggies to get to George Howell. It was a happy walk and my iced coffee hit the spot. The staff at George Howell promptly took my order and asked me the most important question, "room for milk?" For someone who was in quarantine the past week, this walk and quick social exchange hit the spot. The weather was windy but warm. My five layers were enough -even too much. The mid-day pick me up was a good idea. In 50 minutes i'll go back to Dunks.
Absolutely awesome espresso and a wonderful environment in general. George Howell is one of my first stops every time I am in the city. Their chocolate chip cookies are fantastic as well.
really kind staff, super quick service, and amazing coffee!
Good espresso but overpriced.
A pioneer in specialty coffee 1975. This location is convenient with locally made baked goods good tea quality. With indoor seating a couple in front of the store and plenty outside seating and in back of the building as well.
Freshest coffee beans from a local roaster. While many roasters are reducing the amount of beans in the takeaway bag GH has been pretty consistent and not raised their prices as much as competition.
I love coffee places with in-house roasters. Fresh and mild taste of coffee. I loved my mocha not at a chocolaty note. Foam was thick and well done! Bakery eats were good as usually nothing great about it. But coffee is a must try!
Great coffee and very friendly, knowledgable staff!
If you want to have a good coffee in Boston, you must visit Georhe Howell Coffee. Coffee is hiqh quality, creamy and right temperature. If you love hot cocoa, this is your best option! Bakery is delicoous too! The place is at Newtonville, a nice town worth visiting when coming to Boston!
Tasty coffee sized for leprechauns or maybe small hobbits. I’m used to getting espresso in a demitasse but not cappuccino- that should be a full-sized cup. It was well-pulled with reasonable foam, just Lilliputian in scale.
Coffee was good. Each is made to order and takes time. It’s pricey but it’s in Newton so no surprise.
Great beans, poor execution. Espresso in our cappuccino was sour. Haven’t been to any other GHC locations, but I know the beans are really great. Just look at that capp art 😲😮💨
I loved this place! I have seen George Howell all over Boston, and in local shops, so when I was near one I had to stop in and I am glad I did. The coffee was absolutely fantastic, and the staff was so awesome. Highly recommend!
Unfortunately, I’ve loved this place until my encounter this morning. I’ve told many people about how great George Howell’s coffee is and how welcoming they are. I placed an order in person and was happily greeted by the cashier. My experience went sour as soon as I heard what I thought was my drink order. (I am hard of hearing in one ear and did not have my aid in)… I mistakenly grabbed the wrong drink and was rudely spoken to by the barista who made it. “That is not your drink, I said *insert drink order*” and proceeded to grab the drink away. I take full responsibility for grabbing the wrong drink. However, it was not intentional, nor was I going to play the “victim” of being hard of hearing… though I do believe this is a lesson learned. You truly do not know what people have going on in their lives and should be a bit more gentle.
Coffee is very good but thought the process were high.
