Great place and great options. Kind and knowledgeable staff.
Dynamite brunch: the employees seem eager to assist you, held eye contact, and all seemed to enjoy working there which sets a great foundation for a business. Coffee and quiches taste better when the person who gave it to you was giving you a genuine smile and that positivity creates a ripple effect. Most cafes just give you a coffee, Roots gives you coffee AND an environment that fuels you with hope and motivation. Additionally, they promote love and compassion with their merch and wall art. We enjoyed several types of quiches and frittatas dining in, and the entire place was immaculately clean. This is a wonderful business to support.
Coffee was very good. Food was so so. The place is cute and if you are truly gluten intolerant then I'm sure the food would be rated higher in your opinion. I will be back to try the hash brown casserole.
The environment is great. The serving is amazing and the servers are exquisite. Especially the redheaded girl, her charisma was out of this world.
I just love love this place. The staff is the best and the food is great!
Absolutely horrible. Definitely do not recommend, food was rushed… not sure how you mess up a bacon egg and cheese but it they did it tasted like straight bread nothing to it. Cheese was cold, not melted at all, one of the worst if not the worst BEC I’ve ever had. Smoothies are decent that’s about it.
Gluten-free dedicated restaurant and coffee shop Got the buffalo chicken sandwich with chips super good they have a wide array of desserts cupcakes cookies donut and scones. the people are super friendly and there is a free library
Love this spot. Their mexican mocha is great.
Staff is super nice and the food & drinks are good, but they forgot to add avocado to my “Chicken Avocado Sandwich” which I didn’t realize until I got home. I also think it’s overpriced for what it is and the prices are higher than listed on their website. I’m glad they are a good option to those with food sensitivities though.
The food was okay but the coffee was not good. They also didn’t mention anywhere that all their food is gluten-free (which is great, but odd that it’s not advertised?). But the food and drink is not why I’m giving this a low review. Honestly, this place was a total bait and switch. When we walked in we saw a cute library and shop but as we looked closer we realized this is a super religious … church group? When we took a trip to the restroom it all became very clear. There were bibles and conference rooms and religious symbols and teachings all over the place and we began to feel very uncomfortable. It was kind of wild how we all came to realize it and it felt like we were being misled. I don’t think that we would have wanted to go if we had known this information prior.
As someone with celiac disease, I can't stress enough how amazing it is to have a dedicated gluten free cafe so close by! I can order anything, without worry, and for gf stuff it tastes amazing! The employees have always been helpful and kind to me, and it's just good vibes all around. I'm a frequent visitor and proudly displaying the Roots bumper sticker on my car.
Roots Cafe is a wonderful spot for coffee, brunch, lunch, baked goods, or just to enjoy the atmosphere. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The service is quick if you're on the go, but I would recommend going to relax and catch up with a friend or read a good book. The food is wonderful. Everything is gluten free (and as someone who was recently diagnosed with Celiac disease, this is a blessing), however you would not be able to tell this from the taste of any of their cookies, muffins, cupcakes, or sandwiches! I highly recommend enjoying this wonderful cafe!
I've been to Roots a million times and I plan to a million more. The food is amazing - I had no idea anything was gluten free while eating it. It doesn't taste like you're compromising at all. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and much more cozy than Starbucks. Get the Strawberry Fields Salad. You wont be disappointed.
Had Breakfast crepes etc. Everything was absolutely delicious. Super fresh ingredients. The flavors were sooo good. The staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Great job everyone!
Dropped in this week for a quick lunch with my mom. Roots offered friendly service, great sandwiches and an awesome pumpkin maple whoopie pie! My mom is gluten-free, so it’s great to have a dine-in option for her where she can order whatever she wants without worry. Great experience - Will definitely be back!
After looking this place up I wasn't expecting an entirely gluten free menu, I was very into the fair trade aspect though. Only did I see the "*all menu items are gluten free" note after wondering why the bread on my sandwich was so dry and bizzare tasting. They also don't mention the uncomfortable Christian tones on their website either. We ordered a lackluster breakfast sandwich and special sandwich which advertised having caramelized onions, which were more sweated rather than caramelized. Both sandwiches were hardly heated through. My coffee was acceptable enough, the cortado however was just not good. I don't plan on returning and please do not reply to this with your motto being "LIVE OUT LOVE", I dunno, weird vibes, don't like it.
The way to go with a coffee ☕! The staff are extremely busy and service however we waited 30 mins and a woman before me only ordered a small ontry so we had respectful of the place we politely told them that'll be cancelled because the wait was hectic I went there the following day again and this time everyone was there but coffee will be the one I'll always only at only order. Otherwise like such in the restaurant it'd be nice if they can get more busy with customers by 1. Not also changing my order and charge was over rated
Roots Cafe is a Christian library and gluten-free cafe, which would come as a surprise to you if you checked its Google Maps description and the "About" section on its website --which do not mention the Christian library or gluten-free menu --before you decided to go there. Accordingly, you would be surprised if you ordered a bagel and received a piece of gluten-free bread with a hole in it, and you would likely regret that you hadn't had that info and ordered a crepe instead. If you would like to borrow a Christian book and/or have a variety of gluten-free options, this may be a great fit for you! However, if you or someone in your party uses a wheelchair or walker, this will not be a good fit. It's quite unusual to find a sidewalk that doesn't have a curb ramp these days and, for a business that's been open for 4+ years, one would have to assume that's intentional at the Roots Cafe, which strikes me as being not what Jesus would do. Coffee was weak and lukewarm.
Such great staff and atmosphere! They even gave my son a toy which he loved.
Great atmosphere! Good choices in healthy drinks and gluten free options. It could get a little crowded.
