Place has really gone downhill…. Literally.
The staff here is wonderful and so is their food! I've been over a dozen times. My favorites are the Avalanche and Rueben sandwiches, if you like a modded grill cheese get the Bublecuffer, add bacon and tomatoes! So good.
Convenient online ordering, great daily soups and tasty sandwiches/paninis. Make sure you order with plenty of time as the wait can be rather long.
At Dellie's, I had the best breakfast in my life. Okay, one of the best. I can't disrespect my homies at the Bayou Kitchen. But it was one of the best I have had in my life. I almost don't know what else I can say. I don't remember what the breakfast was called. It was written in chalk on the menu. French toast, sausage, bacon, eggs, potatoes, and toast. Each better than the last. You can taste the quality of every ingredient. The bread was fresh baked that morning. The maple syrup tasted like it was tapped halfway up the mountain. I have a feeling the pig who laid down its life for my bacon was alive the week before I arrived. I had the entire plate and could have had another. Absolutely sublime. For context, I usually have a cup of coffee and an orange for breakfast. Warm, cozy, and with gigantic picture windows to look out at the Bigelows, my breakfast at Dellie's was the best I could remember for a long long time. I'll be back to Dellie's.
An hour wait for two sandwiches? And plenty of people got their food before we did who ordered after us. Edit to add that we were there at 1:30 on Saturday, September 17th. After a half an hour and noticing that someone who ordered after us got their food first, I went up and asked how much longer we were expected to wait. They told us 10 mins (but it actually ended up being a half hour more) and that the paninis take longer to make which was why the wait was so long. We didn’t have time to eat inside because it took so long and so we left as soon as the sandwiches were done and they ended up being cold. We noticed a lot of other people getting frustrated too.
Slow, overpriced and wrong. We ordered ahead and when we go there 20 minutes later they obviously didn’t know about our order because they had not it started yet. Then it took them an additional 20 minutes to make our three sandwiches. I had ordered a veggie sandwich and paid extra for a whole pickle and more veggies. Only got a 1/4 pickle, was missing the extra veggies and had tuna on the sandwich. I’m a vegetarian so was very disappointed with this. We paid $50 for three mediocre tasting sandwiches.
It's okay to be super busy. What's not okay is to not let people know that when they place an order for a sandwich it's going to be 45+ minutes.
The owners were incredibly nice, they even invited me to their son's wedding!
Awesome sandwich. You got to go.
Great little place for lunch!!
Boo! >:(
イタリアンサブはボリュームがあり美味しい。コーヒーはローカルコーヒー会社のコーヒーが数種類あり。
Absolutely saved our vacation! You can rely on them for fresh high quality Breakfast and lunch daily! Thank you for everything!!
Best sandwich I've ever had.
Great Service and Good Food.
Always love this place, but after two sandwiches ordered, they all fell way short of their standard. Let's only hope is a covid related staffing issue and by winter they have it figured out.
Definitely one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had! Homemade salsa is amazing! Beautiful view with outdoor seating if wanted. Staff is also very nice! Food was super fast! This is deff my new breakfast spot everytime I visit this part of Maine!
Thick, dry bread slices & kinda skimpy on the cold cuts. We also got some of their "paninis" supposedly made on "foccacia" bread... it was just like eating wonder bread crusts, lightly grilled, except the bread is dry.
We look forward eating at D’Ellies each year we come up to Sugarloaf. The sandwiches are delicious and worth writing home about. You just can’t get sandwiches or even breads like these where we live (the Middle East.) I recommend the Downhiller. I recommend D’Ellies overall as the shop is quaint and has a lot of character. The staff are always friendly and add to the experience. Perhaps it’s the water or mountain air.
Stopped in at D'Ellies on a rainy afternoon as my more shopping-inclined family members explored the surrounding options. For $2.50 I was able to grab a bottomless coffee with perhaps the coolest coffee cup sleeve I have ever seen (that will double as my only souvenir memory from the trip). The mom and daughter working were very kind and others in the family eventually enjoyed their own coffee and homemade brownies. Wonderful place to cozy up with a book or grab a quick and fresh bite to eat!
