I use to love this coffee shop- located right on lovely downtown Maine St. Paul the original owner ran a tight ship. The food and coffee drinks were fabulous and the environment was welcoming. The Paul sold the place and the second owner renovated the interior and gave Mark the chef more latitude to create menu items which were fabulous. Then the a little Dog was sold again- staff changes ensued and the service, quality of food and drinks and welcoming atmosphere went out the window. The result: random closing times, unhappy employees, food that is hit or miss (and lately more often a miss) and coffee that is frequently less than fresh. There are other coffee shops in town that provide excellent service, fantastic menu items and business hours that don’t change with the wind direction. Our local beloved Little Dog coffee house is nothing but a memory now. It is time to put the Little Dog out of it’s misery.
Attention! Under new ownership, this is a politics forward establishment with terrible food, service and organization. Do not expect competent service. Do expect off putting political in your face style propaganda and masked Gen Z screwing up your order and beginning to whine under any degree of pressure. Expensive and obnoxious . Purple hair suggested but not required.
Quaint coffee shop downtown. Lots of Different coffee to choose from and they'll make something different if they don't have what you're looking for.
Lovely little cafe. My girlfriend and I love the place.
So I loved the location, atmosphere, service and coffee but the bagels,meh..and the croissants were under cooked. I'd definitely go there again and give them another try. But I may just enjoy the Joe,
Genuinely really like this place but they’re consistently randomly closed. And they also close super early (1pm) maybe scratch the world “lunch” off the door? Three times now I’ve driven up from Yarmouth to find they’re closed. And each time the reason is different. I’m just frustrated with the lack of consistency or reliability. If you manage to get in everything is pretty delicious but… good luck
Way too woke... Face masks and pride flags everywhere...
A very popular coffee shop. The pastries are very good. I had a croissant that was crusty and flaky on the outside and soft and buttery on the inside.
nice, but very understaffed. frequent closures due to members being fired and no new members being hired on. lack of consistency due to employees appearing burnt out, despite their good attitudes. some features of the cafe (like bottled drinks) have been phased out for some reason. please listen to your staff, i don’t patronize businesses that don’t treat their employees like equals, especially at the union bargaining table.
Food and drink orders take dreadfully long now, the cafe is so busy all the time but there are only 2 people behind the counter working on production! And that's if you can even get through the door... the place is closed half the time now because there's hardly anyone working there!! Why don't you hire some more staff?! You're hurting your business!
Little Dog has been a cafe I stop at when I'm stopping in Brunswick or driving through. Little Dog Management, listen to your workers when they say they need more staff and a union.
Lovley coffee shop, with friendly staff who are unfortunately overworker; wish the ownership would bring on more staff, deal with equipment malfunctions, and generally bring good faith to union bargaining efforts.
Wow, they make the best lattes!
If I could give no stars I would. I came into this coffee shop this morning. When I walked in the door it was a busy place. At first I didnt know where the line started because there was no signs detailing where you ordered or paid or any of that. After 2 people behind me got in front of me because I was standing in the wrong place I was let back into line by those nice two customers. After ordering a simple latte and a breakfast sandwich I waited. Both customers behind me got their orders and were out the door before i got anything from my order. the person working the register seemed to know both people by first name basis. By the time my breakfast sandwich was ready I’d waited 7-10 minutes. After another 7-10 minutes of standing there waiting my latte was finished. The girl working apologized for my near 20 minute wait for my order but by then my coffee and my breakfast sandwich were cold and quite honestly disgusting. I will never come back here and if I know anyone who ever thinks of coming here I will strongly recommend reconsideration. For such a popular place I dont see how anyone could put up with the horrifying service this establishment provides.
Why does this place SUCK so much? Brunswick deserves a better main st coffee shop. Most mediocre coffee shop I've ever been in. It is the "live, laugh, love" of coffee shops
Can't support any business that takes retaliatory action against workers trying to organize. Also I find their chai is quite bland.
Workers try to unionize and one of the reasons is food safety, then they get fired. Nice.
Nice space on Maine Street and very busy on the weekend. Good coffee and decent food. I went on a day they were getting crushed, so busy that felt bad for them. They did an admirable job and I will definitely go back and try them again, hopefully when it's a little less busy.
Bought the breakfast sandwich on sour dough bread (not bagel) watch them dump a large bin of frozen egg "patties" of which [one] was topped with bacon( pre-cooked )then microwaved! After a considerable wait they failed to call my name, by the time I opened the aluminum foil wrapped 🥪 they failed to thaw the egg patty! BTW Little Dog does not offer REAL honey or raw sugar! 2 coffees and sandwich $16.00 Complete RIP OFF!
Great coffee! Didn't partake of their baked goods... but they looked yummy.
