I googled best blueberry pie and Side Street Cafe popped up. The reviews were spot on. The pie fantastic. We had to go back twice. Make sure it’s warm with a scoop of vanilla and order your own don’t share. You will want it all to yourself 🙂

Ok, first of all, the food and service was good. Reason for 4 star rating...the lobster roll I really wanted, was pitiful. It was made with mayo, which usually you're given a choice of mayo or melted butter. Ok, not too bad. The problem that I had with it was it was very skimpy. It came out on the roll, with a piece of lettuce laying in it and the skimpy layer of mostly chopped up lobster on top. All for $28 ! Ok, so all the restaurants we found, about 4, had the same price, But, when I used to get them, anywhere, they were completely filled up, I mean bulging out of the roll with Big chunks of meat! Maybe this is the new norm, I don't have anywhere to compare with. But for the money you pay, if they're going to double the prices, then they should still give you the normal amount of product that they used to give you! Not double the price and cut it in at least half, actually I would say, more than half. Picture doesn't prove what I said, but it just wasn't even pushed down in the roll.

That starter was soooo good! The banging shrimp! The sauce, the pita (best ever eaten and i only like pita bread!), and the shrimps. I will come back just for that dish, i am sure!

Great spot in Bar Harbor. Super friendly and speedy service. Beer list was full of local options at good prices. Menu was seafood focused, but had other options for those who need it. Food was extremely good and priced very well for the quality. I’d definitely come back several times!

Our first Maine lobster roll, and it was delicious! The bun was stuffed to overflowing with cold juicy chunks of lobster with a light lemon aioli. The clan chowder was creamy and full of clams and other goodies. The fries were hot, fresh and well seasoned. The blueberry pie was the best I've had. This feast was not inexpensive, but not too out of line at $43 (add another $8 for the pie). Service was very good. Plenty of paid parking across the street.

We were here on Sunday around 5pm. We ordered two beers, clam chowder, goat cheese salad, their fish tacos and lobster Mac and cheese. The service was great and very fast! The clam chowder had lots of flavor. The salad was amazing with lots of goat cheese. The lobster Mac and cheese had good amount of lobster and had great flavor. Fish tacos were alright, fish needed a bit more seasoning in my opinion. We ordered tres leches cake with mango and pineapple. It was my birthday so they added a candle for me. Overall great experience with great food. Will recommend this place!

A great burger place when you're looking for something other than seafood. Although I am sure their seafood would be good, we wanted land meat and really enjoyed the burgers. The mac and cheese was interesting, thought there was a flavour in it that I found .... Um.... Interesting. Not bad, just different. Plentiful portion sizes, such that it was a challenge to eat it all, and the wife had to tap out. Would have loved to try the variety of beers on their menu too, but time was limited. Service was good and prompt.

The lean machine burger and sweet potato fries were amazing! Visited again and tried the firehouse burger w black bean patty substitution plus soup which was average. Mac and cheese was mediocre. Lean burger buns were so soft and the spicy aioli really hit the spot!

Food: Very large portions! I had the BBQ ribs w/ Mac n cheese. The ribs were amazing and extremely soft. Service: The waitress was extremely friendly and responsive, with small wait times. Overall, good place to visit in the area

We got the haddock sandwich with sweet potato fries, firehouse burger with Mac n cheese and the “bear trap”, which was an amazing flourless chocolate cake. They had something called “horseradish demi” with the steak dishes that we were curious about but did not want anything steak so the server got us a side of that sauce, and it went with everything! They should totally bottle and sell that as a sauce. Loved the off season relaxed ambience (but still busy) a lot more than the crazy busy summers here.

Really good pub with a twist vibe. The lobster Mac and cheese was sooooo good, I’d definitely get it again. I liked that the Mac and cheese was a little light, but with good flavor because the lobster is so rich. My mom had the shrimp salad which was delicious as well, shrimp were cooked and seasoned perfectly. We ended with the blueberry pie, which was also super tasty. Their lemonade is also really good! Definitely would recommend for a treat. Staff were nice and attentive. It’s a super kid friendly restaurant so it got a little loud near us, but I definitely appreciate this for families with kids!

You NEED to stop into this restaurant! If you are in Bar Harbor I highly recommend making Side Street a stop. The food was absolutely delicious, our server was quick and friendly and the atmosphere was wonderful. They have a large assortment of drinks to choose from as-well along with some beautiful artwork in the back which is available to buy!

So happy to make it to dinner here on opening day. Side Street is a must-do dinner for us when visiting MDI. Great and personable bartender with thoughtful suggestions. Happy hour options were on point. Enjoyed the corn dogs, shrimp and truffle mac and cheese bites. Loved the halibut sandwich and the guys enjoyed their burgers and mac and cheese with bacon (of course). The spiced pear margarita was delicious but my fave was a jalapeño blueberry (bc jalapeño makes any marg better!). Thanks SSC!

We were looking for a good late lunch after a day of adventuring at Acadia, and we really enjoyed our time at Side Street Cafe in Bar Harbor. We were able to be seated outside right away around 3:30pm. Lucky for us it was the start of happy hour for 2 hours. We had arguably the best and uniquely flavored margaritas for a reasonable price - wild blueberry for me and an apple cinnamon for my husband. At $8 per margarita we thought that was a good happy hour deal. We shared 2 entrees - a lobster roll and a haddock Reuben. Both were delicious. The cafe boasts one of the biggest lobster rolls in the area, and after several across the area, we thought that was fair. The haddock Reuben was delicious - large and with a good amount of each of the toppings. And finally the house made chips were delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive and you never had to worry about waiting to ask them a question. We would definitely come back!

The first two things my husband tried to order the restaurant was out of… but the server didn’t even offer up anything else they were out of so we just shot in the dark Ordered two burgers, a lobster roll with clam chowder, and a pulled pork sandwich. I opted for a gluten free bun on the lobster roll. The ciabatta and GF buns on all the sandwiches were rubbery and dry..like they had been microwaved. I didn’t even end up eating the GF bun because it was so hard. The burgers were tasteless and not juicy at all. I asked her about upgrading my sides for the lobster roll and she said it only came with the chowder…it showed up with chips and pickle anyways..so I would have liked to do a salad which I would have paid more for… Server barely came back to the table, never refilled drinks until I asked. I asked our server for a Diet Coke..she brought me a Diet Pepsi..if I would have known y’all served Pepsi and not coke I wouldn’t have even ordered it and paid $3 for it. $120 for dinner that wasn’t even good was incredibly disappointing.

I had the Lobster Mac and Cheese and wifey had the house burger. We shared and both were excellent and provided plenty of food. The bar staff was very busy but also attentive and happy and kept the drinks flowing as requested. Cool place — recommended!

They were busy, but service felt a tad slow but friendly nonetheless. The mac and cheese options are worth trying but you MUST get the blueberry pie as dessert with ice cream and warmed up. I've never had a piece of pie literally melt in my mouth like that. Wife was a big fan of the apple cider margarita as well!

Lobster rolls. That's all I can say. Besides lobster mac n cheese. The best. No wait to get this amazing food. Also had the margarita of the day - apple cider! And our waiter was amazing. Great date!

I had the chowder, and bang bang shrimp. Both are delicious, but the blueberry pie was the best.

Really cool place, fantastic drinks and happy hour! Was not impressed with the service (waiter was very unfriendly). With that being said, I would come here again for the food and drinks (and would give the service another chance).
