My boyfriend and I came here for a little brunch date. The scenery is super nice, staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Gelato is amazing! We got the bananas foster and the cherry almond gelato. We got the nutella banana and gouda and prosciutto crepes and the prosciutto crepe was delicious. We shall return.

Great coffee and friendly staff, but their pastries are amazing, especially the orange olive oil cake.

Very difficult to find out the current flavors. Website does not have this and every time I call it only rings. It would be wonderful if the flavors were posted somewhere, or the phone would be answered. Coming from an Information Technology (IT) background, I understand that a website isn’t the easiest to maintain for a local business owner - social media is an extremely powerful tool to promote the cafe along with menu option/changes. It would be nice to get an inside peak of a local business that the manager/owner maintains.

I want to start by saying that we enjoy the food and atmosphere and have been routine customers, but be forewarned that items may not be gluten free even if labelled as such. Always ask! A few months back, we visited and the biscoff gelato was labelled gluten free on the sign in the gelato case. I have been there multiple times and it was never labelled gluten free before so I did ask just to make sure. The person behind the counter said it was mislabeled and was not gluten free. She erased “GF” note. She said the staff was still learning and she put a note on the counter by the register to remind the other employees that the biscoff flavor was not GF. I can understand how this can happen and was glad she tried to make it right. However, we visited this past weekend and they had a flavor that was new to me since they rotate flavors. This one was banana pudding and labelled Gluten Free but had a topping that that I assumed was vanilla wafers. This was going to be my choice but thankfully, I asked the employee if it was gluten free and mentioned I was checking because of the topping. She said it was NOT gluten free and the topping was “probably vanilla wafers”. She never erased the gluten free label from the sign in the gelato case so anyone else may have assumed it was safe. I understand that gluten free is a preference for some, but for others who have a wheat allergy…or Celiac (like myself), this would have made me extremely sick for days. I’m glad I asked, but I don’t think it’s ever okay to be careless with gluten free labeling when gluten-filled toppings are purposefully put on it. It either comes down to lack of knowledge by the staff or carelessness, neither of which seems okay to me. If you’re not sure if it’s GF, please don’t label it that way. Someone thought it was gluten free, so what if I asked the wrong staff member and was misled (even if unintentional)? I feel like it breaks my trust and is disappointing as safe food is already hard to come by in the

Not a big coffee guy, but the barista was super helpful in finding something tasty. Even asked for me to check to make sure i liked it before left. Very appreciative of the help.

I absolutely love this coffee shop! The atmosphere is beautiful, and the staff are incredibly kind and positive. Not only are the drinks high quality, but the food and sweets are also amazing. Whenever I come in, I'm greeted by Kat, Rose, and Sydney, who are always super sweet and provide speedy, up-beat service. I can't recommend this place enough - if you're looking for a great coffee shop with delicious treats and wonderful service, this is the place to go!

We came on a Sunday evening. I appreciate the cozy atmosphere and the very friendly staff. I ordered a canyon chai herbal tea and was pleasantly surprised to see it served in a personal French press. I was able to let 7 others have a taste. Most of them never had chai! Yay! Thank you for the generous portion💜Carpe Diem! Try this place.

This has become one of my favorite spots downtown. It always feels warm, welcoming, and clean. The drinks are very good and the people behind the counter are so friendly. I love the attitude and atmosphere! I recommend their lattes, burnt honey cake, & gelatos. One thing~ I've had an employee hit the $1-$2 tip option for me on some card purchases, so that it was automatically applied. I usually tip cash, even if I pay with card, so I wonder if I've over-paid a couple of times... Otherwise, I highly recommend!

We are appalled by the terrible and inappropriate service we received here. Liz’s accusations are unwarranted, inappropriate, untrue, and hurtful. There was water spilled on our friend’s lap prior to entering the establishment, and there were many witnesses to attest to this, even video evidence. Liz accused our entire party of a disgusting and offensive act. All who were present agreed that the treatment we received was unjust, and have decided they will no longer support such a business. Several other customers who were witnesses voiced their opinion to us that they were appalled at the management’s behavior. Family who was reunited and maybe laughed a little too loud (pardon us) was met with threats to call the police. We advise you to take your business elsewhere, Lafayette, these people are not our friends.

This is such a neat place in downtown Lafayette. It's not far from where I work so on occasion I'll walk over for a chai latte and a snack (they have fresh baked goods and their crepes are also super yummy), and I've also come here in the evening when I had family visiting and we all had a cocktail which was also super tasty. They carry gelato and artisanal chocolates, and both are to die for. This has a nice atmosphere, though I rarely am able to sit and stay and enjoy it.

The staff handled a Mardi Gras rush with displayed ease. The bathrooms were clean and the Chai Latte was especially tasty. The Burnt Honey Cake was out of this world!!

Excellent crepes. I had the egg and ham. Delicious breakfast. The Gelato selections changes every day, and they avoid run of the mill flavors. Ask to taste first, it's a fun adventure.

Cool coffee shop, love the plants minus having to duck in order to walk in because of the plants but minor issue. Place is cool, staff is nice and helpful. I tried an iced chai and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Tried their burnt honey cake and its officially my new favorite pastry dish. Indoor and outdoor seating. Wuiet enough to study. Wine is served there too.

Went into Carpe Diem today. It is a place that I used to love when an Italian woman owned it. But things are different now, and not in a good way. The young woman behind the counter was helping a couple with their order so I went to the WC. When I returned, no one was behind the counter. I waited and waited but no one came out from the kitchen so I gave up and walked out. Despite having free parking for 2 hours, and intending to have a relaxing time at Carpe Diem with a Matcha Latte, I ended up leaving. And when I did there was still no one behind the counter.

Upon entering one of the workers hounded me to order something. I usually like to settle in before I browse the menu and order and no other cafe in Lafayette has had a problem with that. It seems like the owner values making a profit over the comfort of her guests it’s just poor business etiquette to say the least.
