Have been many times and have usually had a pleasant experience. I thoroughly enjoy the tea, especially the chocolate chai and Mr. Darcy. I recommend adding a brown sugar cube (maybe not to something already sweet like the chocolate chai, though) and seeing how it changes the flavor. The menu has changed and prices have gone up. There is no longer a tea and scones combo. Tea service is $6.95, and a pair of scones is $7.95. So that's about $15 if you want both tea and scones (one person). They also no longer offer to-go cups for tea, though there still is unlimited tea at the table. I finally got to try the korma and was highly disappointed due to the lack of vegetables and the undercooked crunchy rice. Don't order the korma and opt for something more popular. Dishes I have liked in the past include the hummus and the quiche, and I still love the scones and lemon curd. If you have a toddler or young child that will not be drinking tea, beware that they will try to charge you the $6.95 for tea service if the child even samples some of your tea playfully. Tea cups and spoons are set before everyone at the table, so ask for it to be removed maybe. I understand charging for an older person drinking full cups of tea and trying to charge for adults sharing a pot, but my 3-year-old was just playing with the tea cup set in front of her and mimicking what we did. She dipped her spoon in and licked it and added a little cream and licked that as well. She never once was asked what tea she wanted so this was a charge that was trying to be sneaked in. I called out the extra charge to our waitress, who rudely replied she could charge for the cream instead (something you are normally not charged for). We got the charge dropped, but the damage was done and we will not be visiting as often, and my toddler will definitely not be coming as this was not a kid friendly environment like it used to be. My family and I also know what rude waitress we will request not to have whenever we

We spent half an hour for them to bring us the menu no water or anything and another hour to bring us the food, the server never came to check on us so we didn't have the "tea" experience, they should train better the servers, not a good experience.

Delicious BLT: the bacon was salty and crispy, the lettuce lightly marinated, the tomatoes fresh, Hellmann’s mayo (!!), and the bread was freshly made. If you’re looking for a tasty sandwich in Norway, this cute little cafe is the place. Simple and perfect. We had a pot of Yorkshire tea after and I noticed they had lovely scones with clotted cream among other beautiful pastries. The owners were friendly and made nice recommendations. We will definitely come back when we’re passing through.

Great place for a nice afternoon. Excellent variety of menu items & a whole menu just for tea. Pleasant atmosphere; quaint English decor. A good place for tea & scones. Good service and limited parking but off street parking is available, too.

Went when it was fun, unknowing about needing to make a reservation it seemed. They were quick and efficient to let us know they were too full and offered us to come back another time. Very nice looking place though

Such a cute atmosphere! HUGE selection of teas. Some teas I would not repeat- ginger in particular was not very good. Was very light in flavor and honestly didn’t taste like ginger at all. But the chai black tea was very good. Food was all pretty good as well.

Really love this place. Went for Valentines and then went back to take my sister-in-law the next week. Food and service excellent experience. The decor and teas are exceptional. Really enjoyed ourselves. Relaxed and tried several different teas. Thought the one bathroom decor was royal. Felt like a queen! Would recommend for special occasions and just to feel pampered. We will definitely be back. Recommend reservations.

I’ve always heard this place was fantastic, rumors proved to be true. I don’t even care for tea, but this place rocks.

First off, I love coming here and I come here often. I’m giving it 3 stars because I find they’re getting a little crazy with their price for tea. I went with my 2 daughters (3 and 5) and ordered 2 orders of scones and one pot of tea. The total was over $30. It came out to roughly $21 for the one pot of tea because they charge per person. How much tea do you think my kids are going to drink!? We didn’t even refill it. I think it’s a bit crazy to charge $7 a person for tea. The tea and scones was $13 and change each. They also very frequently don’t have everything on their menu, but I overheard that they’re in the process of getting new menus. The price on the menu is also not the price you pay and they don’t tell you that upfront

Perfect for a ladies day out. You can make reservations or simply drop by. Indoor and outdoor dining. They have different teas to choose from and you can drink as much as you want, they'll just keep refiling your tea pot. Family atmosphere. They also have the Winston Churchill room for the gentlemen. This was my first time visiting and will continue to return. It is one of those must visit places in old Covington if you are visiting the North Shore.

Last Friday, our group of ten had reservations to celebrate before a special occasion at English Tea Room. We let the manager know when making the reservations that we had a time constraint, as we were headed to graduation for our daughter-in-law with her PhD from the Baptist Theological College right after brunch. Our reservation had even been moved to 10am to make sure that we could make it to the College (about an hour away) for 12:30. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly at a quiet table outside in the side courtyard. We received our menus right away, but no water. About ten minutes later, we waved down our server so that we could place our orders, since she had not returned to the table. She was completely unprepared for her position... she did not know what was out of stock, she did not know what the daily specials were, she was completely unfamiliar with the different teas, and she could not offer any information about the choices. We placed our order and again asked for water. She came back about five minutes later with water... and then after another ten minutes, showed up with the first round of tea. Given that two of us had ordered the high tea, which is supposedly unlimited, we had anticipated starting with our tea MUCH earlier. At the time she finally brought our tea, she informed us that she had "just put in our food order"... Ummm, what?!?! We had a time constraint, which we had told her about, and which the manager knew about. An hour and a half should have been plenty of time to get a brunch... but NOPE. It did not happen. Half an hour later, she started bringing out our food in shifts... one person received their meal, then another, then another. This entire time, we had not seen ANYTHING but tea for our "high tea" and our two preschoolers were starved and ready to leave. The server told us that she was "rushing the kitchen" (which, of course, would not have been necessary if she had put in our food order when we gave it to her) and the result was
