Love St. John’s! The atmosphere has a fun vibe and the barista was very kind & friendly. St. John’s is a very cool downtown coffee shop. Great place to go if you want to get away from the big chain coffee shops. It’s also close to Bogue Falaya Park :) A+
excellent recommended
Great little mellow coffee shop. Staff is super friendly early in the morning. That's such a great way to start the day. And prices are very reasonable here. So glad i stopped in instead of having the usual corporate chain coffee.
I must say this is a cozy coffee shop in the heart of downtown Covington. The coffee shop has been there for quite some time, but has new ownership and I think they have changed it up for the better. I had an iced cappuccino and raisin bagel. I enjoyed both. My one recommendation; would be a toaster oven. A microwave/regular toaster does not work well. That way when I order a bagel or a muffin I don’t have to heat it up myself and burn my hand.
Most people go here for the coffee. I go here for the laid back atmosphere.
Good coffee. Got my espresso in a demitasse!
Quick service and great tasting coffee. The frappes are really good too. We go every time we're in downtown Covington
Staple coffee shop in DTC.
Full of aroma and comfort
The Lady / Barista that said she started in Feb 2022 and works there now (Sept 2022) is awesome; Friendly, pretty fast, and a pleasure to interact with. My cousin says, "She makes the best espresso possibly in the history of my years visiting St John's Coffeehouse." Give her a raise! I have always liked the place overall though. Nice aesthetic and atmosphere.
Great coffee and good atmosphere. Staff is friendly and helpful.
St. John's is a Covington landmark, and I have been enjoying their coffee, food items, and atmosphere almost daily since the early 2000s. Iced coffee is meant to be made with cold brew, and that is how they do it - you cannot go wrong! I also very much enjoy their espresso -- nothing better than a hot Americano first thing in the morning. Kathryn and Eric really do care about each and every customer that walks through the door. I know Kathryn has many, many years of experience as a barista -- I would be surprised if there is anything coffee-related that she cannot do!! In short, you will love St. John's and everything they have to offer :)
The barista was incredibly rude and short. Writing this before even tasting the coffee, because I regret even coming in. So incredibly unfriendly. Wow
Nice atmosphere in a cozy town.
This was my absolute first time at this coffee house, and I have a feeling I will definitely be back ! I had an iced mocha and it was probably one of the best iced mochas that I've ever had ! The female barista was extremely nice! The place was extremely clean and it was a very very pleasant experience!
So glad we stopped here for a bit of refreshment on a weekday afternoon before an evening commitment. Cool street-corner shop, plenty of parking behind the building and on the street. Menu features classics and creative concoctions. We had the Chicory (black) and the Iced Matcha with Strawberry Cold Foam! Right now they have an indulgent spin on an affogato (ice cream, espresso, brownie, whipped cream) that sounded so tempting. We also had a roast beef sandwich out of the case, and it was solid. Chill space, friendly staff, quiet and inviting, great for a quick stop or hours camping out with a laptop, book, or board game. We're from out of town, otherwise this would become a regular haunt for me!
Met a friend there. I didn't get to try anything there yet. But the place is nice and I enjoyed going.
This was my first time here. I met up with a friend. It was just a quick visit. I didn't get anything this visit. The atmosphere was inviting. I will return to try something next time around.
They've recently cleaned up/redecorated the space, so it's a good place to go and get some work done, read a book, or play board games with friends. Very warm and welcoming baristas, who always have great music playing in the background, especially love the swing/jazz standards that remind you of NOLA. A bit pricy but worth it for the coffee house experience!
My iced London fog was refreshing, but the black medium roast coffee was average.
