Buffet was out of almost everything but it was after lunch when we went. They got us what we needed that wasn't in buffet though
The food wasn't as good as i remember it from the last time i ate there.
Good Mexican food at a great price, service is outstanding, atmosphere is amazing.
It is always a great place to eat. The food is tasty and reasonable priced and it is a clean restaurant. The employees are very welcoming and want to make sure you are taken care of. Overall, a very good place to dine at.

This was unexpected, but much better than I thought it would be. They had a lunch buffet on Saturday. 12 or 14 items plus the salad and fruit bar. Unfortunately my appetite wasn't big enough to try everything but everything I tried was good. Good enough I need no other reason to drive the hour or so to go back. Service isn't easy to judge when you are doing a buffet, but still they get top scores for being polite and quick. I would imagine the place is hoping during evening hours, but lunch was fairly quiet, which was nice. This is going to be a good reason for going to Richmond.
The service and atmosphere are wonderful. However, the food was not good. Everything my wife and I had was very bland, as if they used no spices at all.
When it comes to the food, El Mejor does not disappoint. Their menu offers a variety of classic Mexican dishes, including tacos, enchiladas, and fajitas, all made with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor. My personal favorite is their carne asada, which is always cooked to perfection and served with warm tortillas, rice, and beans. But what sets El Mejor apart from other Mexican restaurants is their homemade salsa and guacamole. Both are absolutely delicious and made fresh daily. You can tell that they take pride in their recipes and it truly shows in the taste.
They wouldn’t give us enough chips to finish our queso and guac. Don’t go here if you want to eat lots of chips
Great food, low key energy, it just feels like some wonderful Mexican people invited you into their home for dinner. That is how I feel when I go here. Highly recommend the Arroz con Pollo.
One of the best Mexican restaurants in Richmond, love that they have a buffet, the workers are nice, always coming around to check on you. Thanks for being my go-to restaurant

This place is a hidden jem. You don't even know that it is there. But the food is so good and there's always a good vibe going in the background of this place. Service is super fast and you always get waited on by several people. It's just a fantastic experience.
