I thought this place was gonna be really promising but the coffee was not good. I was excited cause they had pour over but the beans were burned and it tasted like a Starbucks coffee. Also, I was excited to come here because on google it says that they do crepes and they told me they haven’t done crepes for a while! I ordered a burrito instead and it was super small and not great. Would definitely not come back
Solid place to get some work done. I didn’t get coffee but I did get a classic “bowl”. If you come here, don’t do what I did. The portion size was incredible small for $8. This couldn’t feed a 5 year old.
I first tried this place in 2018 and it was definitely 5 stars. We went out of our way to stop there on a trip in 2022 and things had changed. The latte I ordered was barely drinkable. Very sad
Love the vibe. Super chill. Good coffee.
One time I got this earl gray latte with chamomile syrup - perfect combo. A little upper and a little downer.
We ordered a cappuccino and a latte and the milk was horribly burnt on both. :( Would not recommend to fellow coffee lovers, unfortunately.
Love it. I just wish they still have the crepes they were the reason I used to go there
I’m a full time barista, and I’ve been to a lot of coffee shops. This one is otherworldly- I had one of the best lattes ever (although I think it’s seasonal :’( ) and the bathroom was very sensory friendly- which was important to me. The lights are low and you can go in without turning on the brighter light- the people are friendly, and I don’t at all feel intimidated by anyone or anything. 110% coming back next time I can.
Nice welcoming vibe to this coffee shop. Beverages were very good. We also tried a berry and coconut scone and a ginger cookie, both were very yummy.
The au lait with oat milk was awesome! Great place!
No crepes! We went to Safai specifically because of the Google reviews and images of crepes but we were told they haven’t offered crepes for over a year.
The coffee is amongst the best in town here. The breakfast burritos are excellent!!
i own Zwanky V (vintage shop) right next door so im grabbing a coffee from here at least 3 times a week! the black magic is my personal favorite!
As close to old school coffee-house charm as it gets. Serious, rich espresso. Some of the best in town.
Great coffee! I had the Snow Melt coffee with oat milk it was delicious! Will definitely come back next visit to town! The walk-up window was convenient with having a group + dogs. They provided pup cups as well!
The cappuccino was really good, and the egg burrito as well!! I love the environment it’s really so cozy and warm!!
An okay coffee shop, nothing special, nothing that bad. Glad they do pour overs. I’ve had both pleasant and annoying experiences here. The unfortunate truth most people won’t admit is that the quality of your drink highly depends on the specific barista making it. Get someone who cares about their job having a good day, you’ll have a quality experience. Get someone who hates being there and feels annoyed by you, your drink is likely gonna suck. That’s just how coffee shops go. If you want to blame anyone blame the managers who create the work environment. If you constantly have a bad experience with every employee, stop to consider if you’re the common denominator.
The only place that was open on Bardstown Rd at 8am for me to hang until my car was checked out. The clerk was nice and attentive.
We were disappointed that they didn't offer the crepes anymore. Usually that was the reason we went there. The coffee is still good. But, with no crepes on the menu, I am afraid it will be my last time there.
Safari is a cozy a place to work, study or just meet people. I enjoyed it
