Best doughnuts you can find. And great people.
Rated Iowa's Best Donut Shop in 2019 by Big Seven Travel. I don't know how they don't keep winning. Our favorites were the Maple pecan and chocolate pecan - and you can't go wrong with a simple glazed. Everything was delicious! What sets this place apart is warm, fresh-out of the fryer, glazed donuts, frosted AFTER you place your order. You get to observe your yummy donut get hand frosted as you wait. The unique open, viewing area allows for an unobscured view to the entire kitchen. Located in a converted, historic Standard gas-station that features fun and funky art as well as an awesome Donut Mural, perfect for selfies! Get there early if you would like to enjoy your donuts in house. There is limited seating. Don't forget a great cup of coffee to go with your donut!

This seems to be a very popular place, so expect to wait in line for a few minutes. We sampled a variety of donuts here and were impressed by them all. The customers in front of us couldn’t find what they were looking for in the case, so the workers custom made a few donuts for them. I hadn’t seen anything like that before.
The dough/bready part of their donuts are the best I've ever had. Amazing.
HATE that this place appears to have "partnered" with a coffee shop that literally hijacked the branding of an original and beloved area favorite coffee shop despite the fact that Spudnuts had this same sad thing done the same to them a while back (I'll never understand why people can't be totally original & respectable, abs choose to try to confuse people to gain sales instead). Why would you do this Wyman's Spudnuts? In saying that, I do love that this is a family owned area small business, will still go here for now, & hope the best for them.

Wow! I've passed this building for over 40 years and always wanted to stop. Finally made the stop today and my family WILL BE BACK! Wonderful flavors, fresh and hot donuts, frosted to order. Don't miss this Okoboji treat!
We have visited and purchased donuts from Wyman's Spudnuts several times this past Summer and Fall. We live fairly close so we have learned the best times to pop in to avoid the long lines and wait times. But it is always best to call in you order the day before and totally avoid the lines. The variety and quality of the donuts is really good. The donuts are made fresh and finished right before your eyes. It's quite a show. Update 8/11/2022 Had a pleasant surprise when I stopped in this morning about 8:30a. No long wait on Thursdays as I have noticed. When I walked up to the counter to place my order the lovely lady greeted me by my first name. She has remembered me from my previous visit. This blew my mind. And of course the Spudnuts were delicious.
Made fresh each day with tons of options and all are incredible! Try the seasonal blueberry or strawberry filled ones or the shaner. No bad donuts here, plus they serve Caribou Coffee! Get there as soon as they open be aise they often sell out quickly in the summer months. Pre-order 24 hours in advance to get 10% off!
Love the donuts and the atmosphere at Spudnutz! The maple are my favorite, oboys are favorite for most of my kids. Always friendly people in line, and the staff is happy and energetic, even when it's crazy busy!

If you're in the okoboji area do yourself a favor and stop here! Located on the east side of highway 71 just north of Mau Marine. Get there early or come there a little later because when they opened and for quarter mile after that they are packed. And as most donuts other than plain glazed have to be made as ordered it can take a little bit but it's definitely worth it

Like others said, the twists were a major disappointment. Whats up with Iowa and can anyone produce a flaky raised donut that melts in your mouth?
Great donuts however terrible on the logistics.
Sick of going here and they are closed when they state they are open! 11:45am.
