Coffee was not great. My mocha was way too sweet and they didn’t have whole milk, just 2%, which is almost water milk. 3 stars because the wait was 30 min for a mocha and 2 drip coffees. Service was sooo slow.
It has been years since I've had a beverage as good as I've had here. I ordered the Aztec mocha. Delicious! Reminded me of home
I hate to rate 1 star but my husband and I just stopped in about 20 minutes ago (about 8:30 am on a Wednesday) and no one was there…. No employees were anywhere to be found. I even rang the bell on the counter a few times and we waited for 5 minutes and no one appeared, so they lost our business.
Wonderful atmosphere and great drinks! This was my first time and I felt like a regular. Try the zombie espresso brand in a drink!!!
Love the coffee love the people and love the vibe. Nothing like getting coffee right by the roaster it's roasted in. Freshest coffee in town. 💞

Simply not reliable in being open. I have tried to come here 3 times in past 1.5 year or so. once Feb 2022 on a friday. once this summer on a Saturday (cannot remember the date) and today 1/27/22. All on days they are supposed to be open and during their posted hours (as confirmed on google and sign on their door) I would love to give them my business, but do not think I will try again. I do not live close and have driven there just to go as I am trying to visit every independent coffee shop in and around indy.

terrific place to meet friends and catch up. coffee centered but the do have a locally made Chai, and offer milkshakes for those that don't love coffee
Awesome place, cool people and great coffee. The coffee roaster is right in the shop! We ordered our drinks and hung out to watch a few roasts. Highly recommend stopping in and supporting this veteran owned business.
I go to this place so much,i love it there. Its really comfortable and had a rustic taste of style to it,and like a million different drinks. My fav is the pb&j frappe.
Excellent coffee. Parking was odd, especially on a rainy day but worth the Brew.
The old place was awesome. This is a local, oddball coffee joint and I used to love it. They were kind, fun and irreverent with great coffee. They moved to bigger digs about 1/2 mile away and man are they rude now. It kills me.
If you love little whole in the wall establishments, you will love this place. We found it on a whim, walked in the door, and fell in love. It's fun and funky, the staff are absolutely lovely. The entertainment they had for the second Saturday was a pleasant surprise and the coffee was exactly what we were looking for. We will absolutely be going back.

I found this place a few weeks ago. I am a local to Irvington and I can’t believe it took me this long to discover Coal Yard! Their coffee is always amazing. Wide variety of syrup flavors to add to drinks plus extremely affordable prices. The prices beat Starbucks and Landlocked! Staff is always extremely friendly and welcoming. This is definitely becoming my new spot.
