I’ll skip this place moving forward. Let’s start off with the good: menu is creative and plenty of options for everyone, the aesthetic is pleasing and they serve beer/wine. While I won’t go into specifics about what happened, I will say that the staff who have been there the longest are so rude and unprofessional. Asked for a manager and a young lady arrived at the table and said “what’s up”. Really can’t make this stuff up. Another “manager” approached the table and was super argumentative. Sad. Edit in response to the response from owner: You say you asked us not to return and that is just a lie. It's not bullying to ask someone to walk away from the table when they are being unprofessional and not helping to resolve the issue and being argumentative. You my dear brought your stress from having to address a situation on your supposed time off. Never do you project your job dissatisfaction onto a customer, it's weird.
The food was great and you get a lot for the price. The service was excellent, and the restaurant was clean and well laid out. It's best to call ahead and make a reservation, though, to ensure availability.
Always great food, two thumbs up.
We arrived at 9:38a with group of 4. 4 open tables open, and we were told they were holding ALL tables as they were reserved for 10a reservations. We could have ordered and been about done with breakfast before the next group arrived. They turned several groups away. Staff was kinda rude. Very disappointing.
We had lunch today at the Big Four Cafe and will will return whenever in Batesville. I had the Arugula Salad topped with the most tender, flavored shredded roasted chicken. My husband had the best BLT and onion rings! The waitress and hostess were so friendly and nice. Five stars to the chef who prepares everything from scratch. A lucky find for us!
This is a super fun and cute smaller restaurant in Batesville, Indiana. They have a variety of food. Handmade deliciousness is everywhere. Highly recommend this restaurant. It is very very clean.
If you are traveling from Bloomington, headed towards Cincinnati you will go through a town called Batesville. If you go through Batesville you must stop at the Big Four Cafè. Unfortunately, I am not on this route as often as I would like to be, but the meal that I had here stays on my mind more often than I would like to admit. Of course I’ve had chicken and waffles before and since, I’ve enjoyed them, but they have all blended together in banality. I remember every flavor of the Big Four’s Chicken and Waffles. My problem with this dish at most places is that they seem to have a specialty in either one or the other. They either have great chicken or they have great waffles. Never both. Big Four has both. It also has such an awesome location and a great staff. Don’t wait until you’re headed to Cincinnati, make the drive now.
Food is fantastic everytime!.best geotta anywhere!
Cameron...hopefully spelled correctly...was awesome he was really knowledgeable about food and building...this place was wonderful best cheeseburger and onion rings ever. Drove from Greenfield In to visit
Love this restaurant! The owners & staff are outstanding! The food is great…at least breakfast is! I like that the proceeds from our meals helps sustain the assisted living residents within the building. They get great meals!
Excellent food in a small cafe environment.
Great breakfast! First time there and we will definitely be back. The food and service were amazing! They were so nice and attentive. Highly recommend.
Breakfast served all day. Great onion rings. Comfortable atmosphere
Tucked away in a neat old factory of some sort, my expectations were surpassed. I ordered the Gochujang Burger and it was AMAZING! Delicious fresh ground burger, topped with pulled pork, sweet slaw and a spicy Gochujang sauce. It was so amazing that after my wife tasted it, she ended up finishing it. I received in exchange a delicious BLT. I wouldn't normally order it, but this sandwich had ample bacon, tasty tomatoes and non-iceberg lettuce all on a local-made bun. This was a satisfying and yummy meal all while being served by friendly and cheerful staff
The ownership and staff were extremely friendly. I had the biscuits and gravy and Goetta. The portions are fine , but the price is definitely higher than other breakfast places. It's nice to be able to get breakfast all day long, but here you can get lunch all day as well.
Surprising place. It doesn't stand out from the outside. But, very nice once you enter the building. Service was great. Food was great. Price was as expected. They have a wide range of foods to choose from. As it was my first time , I got the burger and onion rings. Burger was juicy and perfect. The onions were obviously hand- dipped, not frozen. Very good. We'll be back. I'll try something different next time.
Very kind and friendly. Many options for alternative dietary needs
Late to post this but during the Christmas holidays children were given a pick of a gift from under the Big Four Christmas tree. Our granddaughter loved it! I thought it was a wonderful gesture! Food is always good, too!!
Big Four Cafe was a great place for our family Christmas brunch. All the staff was very nice. The food was really good!
On a trip from out of town and stopped in for some hot chocolate. Was a delightful place to visit. Decorations and atmosphere were spot on. The food was absolutely fantastic and great flavor. Will definitely love to revisit in the future.
