I rarely order coffee due to busy schedules, except on vacation so I was excited to try something new. The barista gave a few suggestions and I took her up on the Iced Salted Beer Caramel Latte. It was delicious!! I could have drank 2 of them easily!
Roasters and coffee shop. Its really worth to stop here. My favorite coffee place in west suburbs and one of the best in Chicagoland
This place is down the alley, when you park on the street there is a place with the same addy, it’s not the coffee shop, the coffee shop is 112 b, which is just down the alley.
Barista behind the counter was super friendly and offered tons of information about surrounding attractions. The coffee was superb. I had a whiskey vanilla oatmilk latte and the flavor was well rounded and delicious
On our way out of town, we stopped at this coffee shop and it was just the right spot for us. Unique and cool location, super friendly vibe, and really good coffee! We tried to the cookie dough balls, high five latte, and the chai latte. Very smooth and delicious. So glad we stopped before heading home.
Coffee was very good. Ordered a mixture of drinks, each was equally good. To the owners: the espresso was pulled prematurely in anticipation of a drink order, which allowed that shot to sit longer than it had to and I wonder if the barista would’ve saved the shot for the custom afterwards, if we didn’t order an espresso drink? Also, the attitude of both staff weren’t the most friendly and seemed to be inconvenienced by orders. This seems to be a trend with baristas and if improved, would give a Michelin Star experience for this lovely coffee business =)
Super excited that this will be my new coffee spot! Staff are all friendly and knowledgeable on all things coffee. Great brews coming out of here.
Rode my bike out to this coffee place from Elmhurst. No place to sit, no real food (not even a cheese croissant or something). Disappointed. I hope they find a new spot w more space nearby. Too bad I missed seeing the old shop pre-covid. Don't want to go to Starbucks!
The coffee was good. But the workers attitude was not. We went on a Sunday morning through the back alley, ordered a black coffee, and latte. We received the latte pretty quick, and waited for the black coffee, we waited for a long time, everyone else got their drinks even people who came after us, the girl at the register just kept giving us dirty looks finally I told them we had been waiting for a while and she’s like oh yea that’s my fault but didn’t apologize and just had a bad attitude. We honestly waited for a good 10-15 minutes. The way she treated us was not the way she treated other customers, I even left her a tip. I don’t know if it was because we are Hispanic and everyone else was white but Definitely did not feel comfortable.
The staff was awesome enough to take my order and bring my coffee outside while I waited with my lovable but slightly unpredictable dog.
Discovered this place because My Half Of the Sky was closed and I wanted to try something other than Starbucks. Their lattes are good. However, the iced coffee is hit or miss. Some days the iced coffee tastes super sour and isn’t worth the nearly $7 cup or the drive. There is no where to sit except 2 tables outside in the alley so I always order everything to go :)
Phenomenal espresso drinks. First time and walked out with 2 bags of in-house roasted beans. Glad to see a proper specialty coffee shop in the area.
Espresso is delicious but they serve in big paper cups, which is not how you should serve espresso. There’s no seating except outside.
Great atmosphere, people and products! Always look forward to stopping in for my salted beer caramel latte with oat milk.
I really wish I liked this place, as its one of the few proper cafes in Dupage County. Yet, the espresso is consistently sour at Five & Hoek. The first occurance I figured maybe it was just an off day for the barista and have given them many chances since. But all subesquent trips I have made here have been the same. To add to that, there is no room in the cafe to sit.
This back alley coffee house is a perfect early morning grab-n-go or sit outside and relax. They offer coffee drinks, teas and small sweet treats for a quick bit. All the coffee is roasted on site and with multiple rotating roasts and flavors, you'll always have something for your palette.
BEST COFFEE AND NICEST PEOPLE EVER!!!♥️♥️♥️
The best small business coffee place in Wheaton, if not the Chicago suburbs. The staff is incredibly nice and the menu is robust with something for everyone.
Sooooooo.... Gone are the days of yesteryear when River City/Five& was the best game in town. There are plenty of other coffee spots around that do it as well or better. Pop by, grab a cup, but it's not what it used to be.
Lots of third wave spots put Cortado on the menu but can’t actually pull shots. This place is special. Dialed in baristas and perfect light roast coffees. They recognize that coffee is a fruit. Great find in an unexpected place.
