Great place to sit, drink coffee, and eat breakfast. Waitresses are always friendly and attentive but sometimes overwhelmed as they are seeking to hire more people. A worthy downtown Springfield stop if you have time to sit and relax. Classic diner vibes which are a plus. Be careful as sitting room is limited and can get filled up fairly fast.

The staff should or be in the restaurant industry, and the atmosphere is way worse I've NEVER seen a sign hanging at the entrance saying "if your pants are sagging you are not welcome" like what year is this?

Drive thru only Monday. Told 20 minutes. Got inline at 15. Watched a car sit at the window over 8 minutes. Took another 15 minutes to get 4 cars through the drive up. Waited over 20 minutes in line and the horseshoe that was supposed to have tater tots had fries instead. Worst service ever had at Sunrise.

Basically,it's a diner with great milkshakes, squashed burgers, tator tots, breakfasts and daily specials. Just wish they could hire more help so they can be opened for dinner.

I had the worst experience I have ever received from a restaurant today at Sunrise Cafe. The food was okay but my experience is due to the staff. I had a large pick up order which I normally do on Fridays because my colleagues and I enjoy ordering out on that day. I went through the drive thru, which I have done before per their request, and waited for a brief amount of time when an employee started shouting totals at me and when I asked her for what order she rolled her eyes and walked away. We are very organized and I have the orders written on envelopes with payment methods in each envelope. When she came back I just handed her the envelopes, explained and she took off with them. She comes back with three receipts and yells, "Start signing! We're so backed up!" Another staff member which seemed very agitated because of the look on her face said, "Here is your food so you're good to go." I told her that I'm still waiting on some of my payment methods. She huffed and left. The original employee came back and I signed those receipts and handed them back to her. She made me feel very rushed and like my business was not wanted. When I counted to make sure that I had all the payment methods I realized one was missing. The employee came back to the window and said, "Ma'am we really need you to move because we have other customers that are waiting." I explained that I am missing one my colleague's payment methods. She found it, handed it to me and waited at the window until I left. There were no receipts for the food. I usually tip but I felt their service was so terrible that they didn't deserve that. I've worked in foodservice and have been in their situation before but there is no excuse for treating your customers so poorly. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
